Jesse you can probably imagine how scrubby my Yamazaki is. I posted what I posted so that maybe someone else with more experience could elaborate. But weren’t you there when Oliver specifically picked Yamazaki to (sucessfully) fight off Ricky’s Vega? It was amazing to watch. Too bad I can’t remember anything too specific…
I also like K-Akuma, the Lifeboost helps him alot. Only problem is you have to wait for your RD…
But pretty much anyone can be used in K.
But not like Geese, and you know that :D.
Well, Akuma is capable of dealing massive amounts of damage when raged with his combos involving long strings, a LK Hurricane Kick and something after it. But you need to have a special “something” as a player to land successfuly the RD most of the time…
@ShinNeosnake: I think that K IS actually the groove of choice for Cammy and probably Hibiki, at least for what I have experienced.
@Nick T.: Never tried Kyo in K, but with his Kick Throw going straight to the ground, that would be like Geese’s Kick Throw? (AKA the L1 super damage when raged throw)? I think that Kyo loses a lot of his potential when he loses his roll, which might be in my opinion one of the 3 best rolls in the game.
@weepel: Any bits of information of that match that you can remember could be of great use to me. Help a fellow SRKer and try to remember
Kyo is a monster in P and K
Because of low jumps? If that is that case, I’d play it in N-Groove, keeping the low jumps AND the roll, but I have only seen A-Kyos in my life.
You’ve only seen A-Kyo’s? In america or japan?
K/P-Kyo isn’t just a beast cuz of low jump, his ability to JD/Parry is great for combos or hit to super. His kick throw is really nice because it puts you down right next to the oponent for a mix up. Raged pokes and throws = A lot of damage. JDing,Parrying, running aids his ways to get in and backs him up.
I’ve only seen A-Kyos where I live, which is pretty far both from America and Japan.
I can assume then that Kyo’s Run > Kyo’s Dash, from what you say?
i dunno, run helps him punish some shit, but his dash is pretty good.
ill aggree that kyo’s dash is asshole, and his roll isnt that great either, but too many people are sleepin on c/n kyo. His customs arent that great (although fun) for a groove to be really dangerous. Rc rekka can be used similar to iori’s rc rekka and people forget that he can totally play footsies. his c groove corner cancel is very damaging/dangerous. he gets a nifty roll crossup after the rekka combo and im sure there are a host of reasons why kyo is good in c/n. soo many people just rave about p/k kyo so no one who only read this forum would know that you can actually use him in other grooves =\
Notice how “Kyo” can play footsies…not necessarily “Dentron.”:lovin:
Running with Kyo is dope…but his dash is ass…too slow. Same with his roll.
Cammy is probably best suited in K…or P…but I think Hibiki is better in N than K. Biased as I am from getting slapped by Buk all the time, I don’t think JD makes her playable like the N-systems do. RC slash and RC run-slash are really good. She keeps small jump and run, has access to lvl 3s, and lvl 1s are useful in some situations. Anti-air and air-to-air are good already, so JD isn’t necessary to cover up that hole. Plus, by playing N-Hibiki, you can say that you’re CRAZY like Campbell, and who doesn’t want to be like Buk? That’s like not wanting free pie and chips…from a gecko.
“you can say that you’re CRAZY like Campbell, and who doesn’t want to be like Buk? That’s like not wanting free pie and chips…from a gecko”
…What? get that dopple ganger ass outta here.
im glad someone noticed how carefully i crafted that statement =D
I still say P Kyo is his best groove overall. Difference really being Kyo with a full bar always poses a massive threat with just one parry. While K Kyo still poses a threat, it only lasts for about 10 seconds. As long as he has that big lvl3 sitting there, you can know one parry and 2/3 of your life bar is gone.
But isn’t that true with most characters? Besides, P-Groove takes a lot of time to get a full bar.
P-Kyo is great, no question…but you have to play patient and smart. Rushdown is an option still, mixups, etc…but I think K is better for most players. The meter lasts 15 seconds, last I checked…and in that 15 seconds, you don’t even need to hit super. Check his kick throw mixups and rekka bnbs, they deal enough to kill you fast…and all you need is one low short and here comes lvl 3…
I respect P-Kyo…especially 'cause of Jamaal…and Charlie, sort of…but K-Kyo worries me way more. I’d gladly eat a lvl 3 P-super, just to hit you back with a lvl 3 K-super that does 1/3 more, and not have to worry about meter management.
Are there any videos of these Kyos you talk about that you could direct me to, Leezy?
Unless I am wrong, I think P Cammy ranks higher than K Cammy. I use both versions of Cammy and each has its own strengths and weaknesses.
As for Hibiki, I don’t use her that much but A-Hibiki is considered a good char because of her reset potential when she is doing her CC’s and she serves as a good battery. Even if K is her best groove, A Hibiki is a good char also.
Okay, I think I’ve posted alot on this section, but I need to finally focus on my tournament team.
I currently have K-Hibiki and Geese under my belt, and now since it seems harder for me to make my own team, I need an outside perspective. I need a member that will go up first, and these are the possibilities:
Kim, Athena, Yuri, Mai, Rugal, Yama.
Id say its either between Yama or Rugal in that list. Whatever suits your style better. If you like rushing down and dealing damage, go with rugal. If you like zoning and playing more of a passive style, go with Yama.
