How do you guys fight against Cammy with Blanka? If I can keep her out, then I’m all good. But once she gets in, I get 0wned hard by run in s.HP, far s.HP times infinity. It’s annoying the shit out of me.
This is a little theory here, but have you tried interupting her with s.LP? A lot of Cammy players take for granted that once they get in close and land a fierce, they can walk forward again and keep doing whatever they want. A lot of times they walk in so close that the frame advantage from the close s.HP has worn off already. Obviously don’t go for this all the time (as you might get counter hit), but try sticking out something fast when you think the Cammy player hesitates a little too long (either accidently or on purpose). d.LK, d.MK, and d.HP all have slower startup than Cammy’s far fierce, so that’s why I’m saying to try s.LP.
If Cammy keeps running at you and hitting fierce, RC fierce ball hits very fast. In fact it’s so fast, I’ve never seen it get thrown out of it’s startup once. Cammy can’t JD or block when she’s running and your RC is not only invincible, but also one of the fastest moves in the game. So other than dodge, kick I’m pretty sure Cammy has no counter to you wanting to RC ball her when she’s running in.
Yo, thanks for the tips. I’ve been counter-hit with just about every move with Blanka. I actually haven’t tried using s.LP though. But what I’m afraid of is that it’ll totally whiff because of its poor range and I end up getting smacked back anyway. But at the right range, I can see s.MP working because a lot of mediocre Cammy players walk into a lot of shit if they’re thinking her pokes are still god-like.
Oh yeah, I should have said that I use K-Blanka. Maybe LP Blanka ball would do something if she’s far enough since its been known to take out a limbs without being RC’ed. But yeah, I try that stuff out when I get a chance even though I’m not a big fan of theory fighter now days. Hell, I pretty much just avoid the whole damn situation by making Blanka an R2 since not many people use Cammy as an anchor anyways.
Ken vs. Sagat…
Not an easy thing to do, but Ken REALLY has to fall back on RC Funky Kick in this match. Actually Ken has to fall back on RC Funky Kick in every match. Almost everything Sagat does will get countered by RC Funky Kick, whether it be Tiger Shot, st.forward, st._c.fierce, jump rh, etc.
In the words of John Choi, Ken needs to land a crossup combo to beat Sagat.
I’m having trouble with K-Groove vs Todo. Anytime I play K Groove, and somebody else picks Todo, I have a hard time. Usually I play K-Akuma, Sagat, 2-Cammy. Todo will usually go up for the first slot, which means he goes against my Akuma.
Basically, knockdown followed by those scratch waves chip me, and turn it into too much of a guessing game. If I time it to jump over the wave, they anticipate and do the air scratch, hitting me back down and starting it over. I have been working on the timing of the f,d,df + k move to hop over the wave and grab them, but not sure if that is the best route.
Hell, even Sagat has trouble, unless I can tiger knee over the wave and punish him.
Tips?
i’m not quite sure cuz todo gave me problems when i use K too, but…for akuma, can’t you just teleport out?
for sagat, i think you can trade hits with c.fierce?
i mean let them chip you for the air wave, land, ground wave, then try to c.fierce?
I have a problem fighting against Bison players, Psycho Crushers and Scissor Kicks piss me off.
My Team consist of C-Groove: Vega, Blanka, and Sagat-R2.
Psycho Crushers? Block and punish. Scissor kicks? All 2 hits: block and punish, 1 hit lk: you can jump straight up, and punish on the way down. With Sagat do s.lp.
my main problems are k-zangief vs p-hibiki. i cant seem to get around her pokes.
i also have trouble with p-kyo once he gets in. i can usually win if i can beat him in footsies what with zangief’s df + mk working wonders on him. however once he scores the knockdown i just get creamed.
as for gief vs sagat, i cant give you any tips on rushdown sagat as noone here plays one. however turtle sagat is getting easier. sh hops, standing mk for pressure(snuff’s non rc tiger shots) mix up some low pokes, then if you can get him on the defense running jab string mixed with spd. nothing fancy, just dont jump unless its a tiger shot which you can punish with j. FP. im sure this wont really help with a sagat that roll cancels or rush downs, but it should help with those run of the mill sagat whores. it works for me.
