CvS2: K-Groove Discussion

come on man…the tough part is the first hit (not even hard to me)…if you are able to JD the tiger shot when you are very far from him and on the floor you should be able to JD the second hit…it is the same speed and you only have to justD 2 hits instead of 5…the taugh part for me is that sometime the guy will finish with a tigerUppercut when he see that you have JD is super.

:bluu:

odd…if i can get the first JD down I can JD the other hit (only two JD’s normally, if your SUPER deep, then u might have to JD more) with ease usually…its just that first JD because the screen freezes and cuts your timing short

I just got into K-groove…HOW do i get good at it?

Yeah his AC is good normally but it’s useless against Sak’s CC iirc. Just like Blanka’s you will just start getting hit by the custom since his ac has no actual invincibility.

It is theoretically possible, in fact, for A-sak to kill every groove not just P or K, even if they have counters. You can cancel your dp’s into a roll at any time in a CC, and there is a flash that comes out when the opponent does an AC that you can see and react to if you are watching for it. Just do your custom and watch for the AC, then roll through it and start your custom again. I saw a jap player in a video do this (wish I had the names) and I don’t know how consistent he is with it but it seems like an advanced sak tactic that can own all the grooves pretty badly. Obviously will require a high level of proficiency in the CC so you can do it without even thinking about it and think about watching for AC’s instead.

A-sak is a beast no matter what groove the opponent is in, though, even without this trick, I think that’s pretty obvious. Obviously she is more abusable against P and K but she is a solid character against anyone, her RH is one of the game’s best footsie tools and she has excellent rushdown capapilities, and her rc’s are solid also. Plus your opponent doesn’t always have meter and if they don’t, Sakura custom is just as deadly no matter what groove you are in.

rolento has 6 frames of invincibility for his AC, blanka has 1.

Even better! Roll cancel all of Sakura’s DPs! Totally invincible chip damage CC!

Easy to do

Hmm. in that case perhaps his counter will hit sakura out of her dp’s. Of course he is still vulnerable to being rolled through or having his AC countered just like almost everyone else.

do yall thing rog is good in k?

Idk, I think the fact that “theoretically” Sak can GC everyone is almost a moot point. That’s like saying “theoretically” P groove is the best because you can JD everything. Yeah that works sometimes, but saying it will everytime is a bit much.

rog is good in k, i used him when i first started in k =) one whiff means super with rog means death =) hes really strong raged, i just hate it his fierce can be ducked alot

k-ryu is VERY good in my opinion…why is it I see no variation in k-groove teams…cbs, cbs, cbs…every now and then somebody will throw in a vega.

personally i don’t think ryu gets owned by top tier in k-groove. Ryu vs Blanka isn’t too bad outside of if you block a c.mk, they get a free blanka ball in without u being able to do stuff. Ryu vs Sagat isnt bad either, sagat can not just go poke crazy because dp’s hurt, if you know how to jump in with j.rh correctly you trade with sagats dp, but you actually come out better, especially if they did the fp version. s.rh beats all the top tier jump ins. iono; i dun feel like listing everything that is character specific right now.

his s.rh is just godlike…it beats almost ANY JUMP IN, maybe EVERY jump in. also, IT BEATS SMALL HOPS:lol: that is his aaa and his small ump deterrent. that is good because anytime you see them leave the ground you just hit one button.

his punisher link takes away a fair amount of damage (c.mk, fireball super)

he has his empty small hop go low combos

good crossup combos that knockdown

great sweep range and you can cancel it into special moves

jab dp is still too good at poke punishing sometimes

s.fp is a good running poke

HE HAS ONE OF THE BEST TICK THROW GAMES IN CVS2, and a good thrower benefits GREATLY in k-groove

a good guardstring off of a knockdown in c.mp, c.lp, c.rh (all of that combos if they get hit), then throw a lp fireball for pressure

i just don’t see why he isn’t played more:( oh wellz…

I use K Kyo, Cammy, Sagat.

i use k terry raiden ken HWOS THAT FOR VARIETY!!

Sometimes I put Yamazaki in there or mix it up with a top tier, everyone on the EC scurred of it regardless

IMagine if I played CBS people would be even more scurred and be like yo nigga split the pot with me and we can goto IHOP no need to play these hour long finals

then mad people will be asking me for autographs of me cosplaying as characters from my team but i’ll have to turn them down cept for the people who knew i was hot before i blew up

:wtf:

I need some help… I’m trying to put together a pretty solid team that’s fun and that’s not CBS.

Right now I’m looking at some kind’ve combo of Kim, Geese, and Ryu… Who would be the best anchor for a team like this?

Try out Rugal, Make him or geese anchor.

Fuck K Rugal. Use a combonation of Kyo, Geese, Hibiki, and Rock in K if you want a solid high-mid tier K team.

Dont be so quick to cast of K Rugal like that, he does ungodly damage in K. He is just not a character you can pick up in a day. Not to mention you forgot Joe who is as good in K as any of those characters listed, and Cammy Blanka Sagat who are all monsters in K Groove.

I know you love K Joe blah blah blah, He sucks. When somone does well against someone good in a tournament with K Joe, then we’ll talk. And also let me quote myself “Fuck K Rugal” anyone does tons of damage in K, that’s like saying some C groove char can turtle really well.
