Didn’t the Dreamcast and JP PS2 releases have netplay (cross-platform even)? Would it be possible to net-play on those versions through private servers (similar to Phantasy Star Online’s Schthack)?
There really is no one playing it online. It’s too difficult to set up time to play with people, it’s not like you can just idle in a lobby and have someone join. I’ve played a few randoms and i used to play with Scoot quite a bit a while back.
So I’m guessing there is going to be a problem with lag, but how bad is it from Dallas to Atlanta?
I’m going to play with my brother on a computer that is shitty even for playing GGPO.
Do you guys think this means unplayable CvS2 for me or have you guys fared well online?
Jesus, I posted in there 3 years ago. Did they ever get this to work well offline? Are there ANY stable emulated versions of CvS2 right now? Because last time I tried, everything was ass.
I’m sure they could figure it out pretty easy. I just think the interest is not there to have CvS2 run perfect from the people who make these emulators. Ponder Im sure could easily add demul support on ggpo for example.
Hard answer is that there is two different type of emulation one matches opcodes to what ever processor your using to. The other is to emulate (not simulate) the cpu itself.
One is going to be inaccurate the other and fast and good chances of being too fast and not being able to run games. The other method has better compatibility but hogs more resources and takes more work. Demul falls more on the the first option.
Also, Demul is closed source so Ponder can’t do shit with it unless he does a kaillera replacement.
