CvS2 is now online for pc

I had the worst time trying to get demul up and running consistently. Any tutorials? Cvs2 online deserves another try.

I should see if mine still works.

Can someone PM me how to do this?

I have no clue how to set it up. I downloaded Demul and extracted the files but I have no clue where to go from there.

@Half-Ro Its pretty easy, just needs better netcode, unless you playing someone super close the delay is bad.

Oh…so its poop then :frowning:

Just wondering about something…

Didn’t the Dreamcast and JP PS2 releases have netplay (cross-platform even)? Would it be possible to net-play on those versions through private servers (similar to Phantasy Star Online’s Schthack)?

I doubt it.

I do know that I’m dying to play this game online again. Fuck Capcom get your shit together!

The delay on PC feels the same as it did on XBL but better when you’re playing someone close.

Hopefully someone can post up a “How to play CvS2 online for Dummies” type thing, so I can jump online and play with you guys.

I’ve googled it, and found a few forums that try to explain it but it’s still confusing and more importantly, all the links they have are dead.

Yeah I would definitely get down with this game too if I had a reliable way to play it.

One generation of gaming conso

It really isnt hard Ill see if I can write something up.

Sweet thanks. I literally have no clue what I’m doing.

It’s as if I have PS3 and I’m trying to put in a 360 games upside down or something.

There really is no one playing it online. It’s too difficult to set up time to play with people, it’s not like you can just idle in a lobby and have someone join. I’ve played a few randoms and i used to play with Scoot quite a bit a while back.

So I’m guessing there is going to be a problem with lag, but how bad is it from Dallas to Atlanta?
I’m going to play with my brother on a computer that is shitty even for playing GGPO.
Do you guys think this means unplayable CvS2 for me or have you guys fared well online?

Jesus, I posted in there 3 years ago. Did they ever get this to work well offline? Are there ANY stable emulated versions of CvS2 right now? Because last time I tried, everything was ass.

everything is still ass

ass you can play online with lag lol

I am not playing something that lags OFFLINE. this is coming from someone that played on xbl until it actually ended…

Yah, that’s what I thought. I don’t know why the emu scene hasn’t figured it out yet.

Fuck it, I’ll just buy a cab and play locally.

I’m sure they could figure it out pretty easy. I just think the interest is not there to have CvS2 run perfect from the people who make these emulators. Ponder Im sure could easily add demul support on ggpo for example.

Simple answer is no to all of it.

Hard answer is that there is two different type of emulation one matches opcodes to what ever processor your using to. The other is to emulate (not simulate) the cpu itself.

One is going to be inaccurate the other and fast and good chances of being too fast and not being able to run games. The other method has better compatibility but hogs more resources and takes more work. Demul falls more on the the first option.

Also, Demul is closed source so Ponder can’t do shit with it unless he does a kaillera replacement.
