CvS2: Blanka Training Guide

Speaking of which, how do you time hitting normals to come out on the first available frame (like reversal jab)? like how can you feel out the block stun? or do you just know from practice? also how do you figure out if you are leaving 2 or 3 frame wholes in your poke pattern? This also practice?

The only way I can consistently get Rolento (or Blanka) jab xx super period, without doing the qcf+P move (or regular ball), is to hold down the jab button to avoid negative edge. So when I want to do Rolento/Blanka reversal jab xx super in particular, I spend a lot of time in training mode practicing before hand.

If I want to do a “reversal” Chun-Li c.LP on the other hand, I’ll double tap the LP button (middle finger, then index). Not really necessary, as you still have to pay attention to the timing of your opponent’s move, it’s frame advantage, etc… but I feel it helps me with my timing greatly.

Blanka s.MP is a really, really good move and I’ve greaty underestimated it when I first made this thread. I never realized the usefulness of this move until I got my copy of the CvS2 book.

-Punch throw, MP ball, meaty electricity
Everybody does that right? Start doing meaty s.MP instead of meaty electricity sometime too. Linking a sweep or CC is super easy when you time your meaty right. I usually just do meaty electricity or fake meaty electricity, throw. But now I have meaty s.MP mixups too. At least +5 everytime. Really good.

kcxj…do you mean d.mp or s.mp? you make reference to both…i’m thinking you’re talking about s.mp, since that one you can link a d.lk even when it’s not meaty (though it’s hard).

question

i dont know if this has been discussed or anything, but how do you do hop fowardxx super with blanka??? ive tried and cant do it. Is there any proper way to do this? thanks

question

Good question. I have always wondered about that.

Ryumexicano

Thanks for bumping. I forgot I had this thread. I’ll update it with frame data and new strategies and tactics I’ve learned soon…

Hop, super is talked about on the earlier pages of this thread. I don’t recommend doing it unless you’re bored and just want some shits and giggles in training mode. It will get you into bad habits once you’re in real tournament matches.

Go here if you want to talk about Blanka in the meantime.

Can someone point me in the direction where this Guile Guide is? If not does anyone know any other good Guile Guides (besides those already posted here under “GUILE”?)

Thanks

Here is the Guile thread buddy

back to blanka… a tip vs yamazaki.

when he does his basic boring ass combo finishing with the slash, hit or block, you can reversal lvl 3 and hit him before he recovers. you can even get it a frame or 2 after the reversal timing, and he still will not be able to block it… this also applies to other characters with fast supers (vega, bison, balrog, cammy, guile etc…)

Thanks that helps out
