Actually…I believe that Bison can superjump over it, he won’t get hit at the peak of the jump. Bison probably has a better advantage over Balrog because of his dive punch crap. Balrog can’t AA it because that dive punch has a LOT of priority and it’ll beat almost anything clean out, I still don’t know what anyone can use to stuff it. But anyways…I believe the AC xx Gigaton Blow can work, but you’ll only get like…5-6 hits off of it.
I played a sagat player and i notice that when rog has him in the corner and is doing all the right things sagat becomes obsolete but i think it all depends on your reflexes. RCing with him is very hard Im still practicing the DAMN THING. Anyway after the fight i was consider very cheap because i drew him to the corner and i wounld not let off of him. I think playing Balrog takes timing and you have to have timing with him to win.
can everyone tell me the basics of balrog? i just started using him, and im not too sure how to. i saw a guy doing his charge move, but when it was blocked, he went low right away. how do you do this? also, if his d,u k is blocked, can you get punished?
C groove Balrog > N groove Balrog.
His dash is one of the better ones in the game, almost as good as Cammys, on par, if not better than Naks. You can rush in, do some jabs, throw, etc. Also the fact that you can store your super unleashing one of the fastest most damaging level 3’s in the game makes this groove better than N groove Balrog.
A groove is pretty tight, too bad his best CC only hits standing opponents.
Still, nothing was as good as EX Balrog.
Low rh, s.rh, and a juggling b,f + K hits crouchers, foo.
in n groove do you really have enough time to counter then break a stock and then do the gigaton blow???:eek:

really in A groove it isn’t always about damage since you build meter so fast that you will be able to do the damage later so the fact that it doesn’t do as much is irrevelant. you are able to hit crouchers that is what matter. and i don’t even play A groove anymore no offense just like N better.
i can only get that juggling one up to the 6500 mark, perhaps you can show me how to get more damage?

walk (or run) towards them, then anticipate when the head but is going to come out…stop, and jump backwards, and FP them out of it.

If he is turtling for a sumo headbutt, just throwout s.jabs. Also once in awhile do a s.feirce, then jab straight dash punch(make sure you use the tip of his glove range). Just zone with him, don’t get too close to him, that what he is trying to get you to do. Play a little mind game on him.

My problem with Rog is that whenever I fight people they pick the small characters and are albe to duck underneath his S.fp and dash punches. Pisses me off.
yeah pixie characters really takes away a big part of Balrog’s game. You have to use dashing low punch to pressure. The good thing about most small characters is that their reach is always kinda crap so you can just stick out standing fierces outside of their range, and occasionally throw out dashing slides.
Balrog can be real fun to play but his learning curve is high. Key anti air that you must do on reaction is the Dash punch with short. Low forward and low fierce are good, standing fierce covers a huge distance. Now Balrog is really most dangerous in K and C. In K he’ll get meter and when he is “enraged” he can just do gigaton blow as soon as the other character even moves forward. In the meantime u just attack them with low forward and strongs, throws, when they jump, anti air, when they turtle, throw, when they walk forward GIGATON BLOW! C Groove, low fierce NO NO NO NO NO NO NO EXCAPE! ANother thing is don’t rely on low roundhouse super because it’s not as easy to link as low fierce. and all these mini combos dont do much damage. You should stick to his powerful hits like standing fierce and a 2 in 1 combo, like low short to fierce rush. and throw. Against honda jump back with fierce or jab. or when he tries to headbutt u GIGATONBLOW!
