CvS 3

Sorry, but… this is another of those estatements by Ono, he wants to make all the Capcom fightings news from here to eternity, he even said that “Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat isnt a bad idea” so…

I wouldn’t mind that if it was done by Capcom. It is Midway that sucks ballz…

:confused::pray::coffee:

Thats awesome news, but not enough to get me speculating

I don’t think taking away RC would really hurt it that much considering the same characters are still wining pre and post RC.

Ed Boon did state that MK vs. SF almost happened at one point, but language barrier and distance prevented from progressing further. I don’t doubt him, seeing how Capcom published Psi-Ops (a Midway game with MK cameos) in Japan.

Sometimes I wish reaction images were legit posts on this site.

I’ll simply chime in and say that CvsSNK2 (outside of backgrounds) is a fantastic game. Really love the shit out of that game. MKvsSF would have been terrible. Just terrible.

“Rye-you” vs. “Ray-den”

I play mostly 2d games…but IMO stuff like cancels and combos flow a lot better in games like Street Fighter EX and Rival Schools.

Maybe its the game engine that makes the inputs easier or something, but it just feels smoother than if I’m playing 2d fighting games.

P.S- It’s probably just me though…

So…

Where can I cop that shirt that Ono is wearing?

^ Here’s the shirt.

I will buy a PSTriple for this game alone. Make it Happen!

Ah, thanks!

CvS3 would be a dream for me with these features:
[]2.5D visuals, not as expressive as SF4, but more conservative to sync with SNK’s ‘cool’ aesthetic. 3D models are also easier to create.
[
]Return all 6 Grooves, including new Focus (SF4) and Clash (KOF12) Grooves.
[]Silky smooth online play.
[
]Fan polls to decide the roster (since the series itself is a fan-service thing).
[]Some new characters provided by Cap and SNK, just to spice things up.
[
]Capcom has to be responsible for the overall gameplay engine. No offense to SNK but “SvCChaos” just didn’t compare to the Cap series.
These factors would make for a lovely game. CvS2 is my personal favorite 2D fighter for a circus of reasons I won’t bore you with now. I would love to see CvS3.

As if NGBC, KOF XI, 98 UM and other great SNKP games didn’t exist. SNKP knows what to do when motivated to do so.

I’m all for this happening.

Come on, we all know that SvC Chaos is the only SNK game 80% of the Capcom fanboys on this site have actually played.

Sprites are almost dead, much like arcades in North America. inkblot totally called this a year or two ago IIRC.

3-D graphics have long been much easier & cheaper to implement, and now they even look as good as or better than the hand-drawn equivalent.

I think one of the best ways to understand the time & money involved is to look at recent 2-D fighters and how small their rosters tend to be:

HnK - 10 characters
Sengoku Basara X - 10 characters
Blitzkampf - 12 characters originally, 13 in arcade
Blazblue - 11 characters
and so on

The 2-D fighters that do have a lot of characters tend to be established franchises that added to the roster over years of sequels/revisions (i.e. Guilty Gear, Melty Blood, Arcana Heart). CvS1 was an exception, but IIRC that took years to make and a lot of the Capcom sprites were ripped from Alpha. NGBC had 40 characters with mostly redrawn sprites - how long did that game take to make, anyway?

Going the 3-D route enables you to get more characters into your first game, as can be seen in TvC and even SF4. I would expect that to increasingly become the standard over the years.

Sf4 took a loooong fuckin time tho.

No, it didn’t.
We know for a fact that Capcom wasn’t even convinced to start any kind of production on the game until after the XBLA version of Hyper Fighting (08/02/06) and SF4 hit Japanese arcades on (07/18/08).
That’s less than 2 years all the way from pre-production planning to hitting the streets, creating EVERYTHING from scratch.

Playmore has been working on KOFXII since 2004 and they’re STILL not even 80% finished.
