Custom Stick

Hello I am new here and wanted to know a few things. I have an old WWE all stars fight stick but we all know how crappy that thing is. I want to create a custom box that is bigger and heavier. Would it be possible to remove all of the wiring and hardware and switch it over to the box I will be creating? Eventually replacing the buttons to sanwa. Shine some light people thanks!! much appreciated

Yeah you can do that. You will probably have to come up with new back/select and start buttons though. Guide button as well unless you keep and mount the turbo panel into the new case.

Overall it be a lot less hassle and more practical if you building a new stick, start from scratch instead of taking the old Mad Catz stick apart. Don’t want the WWE stick, sell it and use the funds for your new project.

I figured I was going to swap out the stick and buttons. I’m just worried about electronics because I have zero experience with a soder. Wood works I can do

There a number of solderless solutions. There are a few PCBs on the market that use screw terminals.

This is definitely doable. I’ve done it on a 360 SE. You’re going to run into 2 obstacles that I mentioned in my previous post:

First: the start and select/back buttons are attached to a separate PCB that you’re not going to want to transfer to the new case. Most people use 24mm buttons for these. In order to do this you’re going to have to cut the wires going to the button PCB right before the white connector, crimp .110 disconnects to these wires and then connect to the 24mm buttons. Dark grey wires go to start button, light grey goes to back/select.

Second: The Turbo panel houses the essential guide/home button and there’s no way to replace it without soldering. In order to use the SE guts you will have to install the turbo panel into your new case, most likely on the top panel so the guide/home button is accessible.

Its why I suggested don’t bother gutting the SE for parts.
Get a PCB like the Cthulhu or the PS360+ It has screw terminals, so the wires going to the board just needed the ends striped inserted to its correct position on the board, and you tighten the wires down by tightening the screws.

Either PCB would accept a normal A to B USB cable like you might use for a Printer, as both PCBS has a USB jack.

As Darksakul said go eitherway with Cthulhu or the PS360+ if you want to play XBox 360 or PC then go with the PS360+.

I just think its more feasible to sell of the SE than trying to repurpose the guts.
