Custom fightstick help

Kitty does dreamcast, but only works with “Arcade stick compatible” games.
If a game doesn’t have that logo, don’t count on it to work.

It also lacks VMU support.

Yep that MLG stick should be good. Be sure to get the TE-S harness. You will need to drill 2 small holes to mount an RJ-45 port where the back button hole is.

yes its kind of ugly but it will work check the trader you may be able to get a better deal or craigslist I find TE’s for $75 often

i only will use it for fighting games and i can plug in the vmu to another controller

cant i just re paint it and add different artwork and buttons (plan on doing that) could be all pink (that would be worse)

you could just pick up the soul caliber version from the madcatz website painting plastic that gets touched frequently is not easy

you mean this one. could i still change the buttons?

of course all TE’s are pretty much the same just outside aesthetics are different

what kind of buttons can i put in

any 30mm button

and the joystick or is the stock one fine also will the home button work on the 360

Damn you don’t know much about fight sticks…yes its fine if you like a sanwa JLF yes everything will work like normal you will have to get a cord made by someone for the dreamcast and with that note your will need to get an rj45 plug put on your usb cable look at this pdf and get familiar http://www.godlikecontrols.com/download/kitty/TEKitty_Install.pdf

Just making sure, you know that the Madcatz TE uses Sanwa parts right?

They are high quality, but are different from parts used in old American arcade machines that you might have grown up with. You cannot put “American” style arcade parts in a TE FYI.

Maybe you should have read the stickies and found this website first?

I believe he’s 16 so I don’t think he know what an arcade looks like unless he’s from the coast its all good got to learn sometime

I know about fightsticks and buttons just not familiar with the madcatz ones originally I was going to make one on my own but this is actually a cheaper soloution, so I have some knowledge and I came here to find out what I don’t know Thanks for the info.

I love arcades that Is part of the reason I want a fightstick I was originally going to make a MAME arcade setup but I realized how expensive that was so I settled on this instead. I based my plans on a vewlix cabinet

Why no adapters?

I’m just curious. Because it would make your project extremely cheap since all you would need is a PS2 PCB and one of the many lagless converters available for them.

adapters lag but not enough to notice people should say virtually lagless most way way less than a single frame for the good ones that is.
