tell me about it. I’m always suprised when I use it, and people get hit by it. It so slow compared to most moves, that I use it for pressure and mindgames more than to actually hit with it, but whenever I do actually try to hit with it, it usually does.
While nerfing was expect i’m pretty damn curious as to what doom is supposed to do now. Mobility still seems to be a big thing so i don’t think he’ll zone that well compared to the crazy rushdown characters with amazing normal range. Especially since they get to hitcomfirm into half health while he just pokes you with severely weakened particles. I can’t imagine they’ll leave in SJC so that takes a TON of his game out the window, and his damage has been shot. I mean it’s early on in the cycle so im guessing he’s either got some new tricks or they’ll give him back some damage, but right now he’s not looking so hot.
Cant they make Dr.Doom into more than character that used only to be spammednaway cuz no one wants to ea as an assist character or when he finally becomes the point character only to become a runaway whimp instead of fighting head up(unless you’re fighting Fagneto of course by all means runaway cuz no one wants to be rush down/reset to death). I mean the only dr.doom that i’ve seen contridict this typical doom behavior was mike z’s dr.doom. At least that dr.doom had a gameplan for coming in close.
The SDCC build of Doom was almost unplayable for me. I don’t normally rock Doom all the time but I do use him from time to time and I thought he was very floatly overall and compared to other characters in MVC3, he took a lot of damage and dished out very little. You really have to work that much harder with him. His projectiles are also slow coming out but trade off decently.
kinda glad they nerfed him, im not doom player so i dont really care that much for him cuz most dooms are just used to anti-air assist spam away, then when doom is finally the point character he runaway spamming that gun and that photon array, or whatever that pink crap is called.
There’s nothing wrong with running away and playing keep away. In fact, the ability to do that (aside from rushing down and/or locking down/trapping) was one of the things that made MvC2 great.
Seems that this guy hasn’t seen Dooms such as myself, KillaKelly, and Mike Z in action…>_>…but I understand where he’s coming from as far as the ‘generically-played’ Doom’s out there. I honestly would want to see him have more of a rushdown-oriented build this time around.
if doom can still play keepaway fine, then I’ll have no complaints for him in MvC3. that new missile move looks like it may help him in that regards (with the right assist of course).
I just love playing doom. he’s alot of fun. and weaving in and out of the opponent and lockin em down with rocks and photoc shots is just golden! its a nice change from the rushdown I use with most of my other characters.
I loved watching scrubs face, they get so pissed off when i would sit back and spam jumping FP all day, man that was the one of the best moments in my life
