I have reset after fumbling a lot in this game. The mkst optimized early set up weapon wise is spread ahit gumballs and charge yes? Seems like it. If I get the extra heart how much lower is the damage?

So I played this game throughout the weekend. I’m 50% done with Isle 3.
What I can say is that this game sometimes gets repetitive. It’s still fun but some bosses are jokes. Once you know their gimmick they are easily taken down. I did this by myself, I dunno how much easier it gets with a partner. I’ll find out next time I go through it.
Some bosses are legit tough. Fuck those bosses. They aren’t as tough as some of these run & gun levels, but they are tough. The clown comes to mind as well as the junkyard robot. I wonder how hard the Devil will be.
To make this game easier, honestly just use the charge shot. Someone on Discord told me to use it and I haven’t turned back since. I use that as my main and the chaser gun as my secondary and it makes most bosses clown shoes.
As for supers, I have used I most of the time but III is solid af if you’re free to move the ghost about. It does a shit ton of damage.

Good to hear this game is selling so well. I just finished the first island on expert, it took me about 30 tries to beat the two frogs, the orange ball form of the slot machine was a bitch on expert. I do like the challenge of expert, but you do sometimes have to hope for good RNG as certain boss forms are significantly more difficult than others.
Is there a way to beat this game without firing a shot?
I’d like to know that there’s a survival way where you just time each stage out.
You can beat all platforming stages like that. You also get a reward for that.
tried playing again today to beat the clown boss, he’s not hard, but my i cut it off after a few tries, and uninstalled and reinstalled the game. im gonna try it again tonight or tomorrow. my game is still having this freezing/lag issue, where the game will stop for like 2-5 seconds and resume after. idk wtf it is
Have you tried using a frame rate caping tool like Dxtory to lock the game at 30 frames or so per second to see if that fixes your issue? I saw someone on the steam show this as a possible issue that said certain video cards were having issues with the game.
I stopped playing at Mr. Dice. That fight is annoying, although not really that bad. I just got a little bored boss fighting. That and all time I have for games (which is very little) I spend on Guilty Gear.

i know its a frustrating boring fight to get to and at the end beat him compared to the other bosses in the game but at the end it doesnt take more then 4-5m for a attempt.
picking your bosses is kinda important to breeze trough so find out which of em are the easyest to beat without to lose a live and parry the shit out of his cards

I booted up the game this morning after not playing for like 2 weeks, beat dr. khal, dice and the devil in a row.
The devil was actually not as hard as I thought he’d be, it was his very last stage which was fucking me up bad. The fight itself is really fun. I love it when he conjures the bouncing bubbles or fires and does that weird little animation where he spins his trident and says some diabolic gibberish.
Dice was a fucking pain in my ass but I felt really proud when I beat him, because I did a near flawless start over run. I only got hit once on the run where I beat him. None of the dice bosses are particularly tough, it’s more of a test of patience which I think was the point anyway.
I tried a couple of bosses on expert mode and this. is. going. to. SUCK. I tried floral fury on expert and it’s already harder than the devil.
I beat expert, IMO it’s not that bad until you have to do the plane levels. The robot, the mermaid and Wally Warbles gave me the most trouble. I will say you only have to beat them once, and you only have to score an S on one of the bosses to get all the achievements. If you had to score an S on every single boss I don’t know if I could do it.
- Roundabout + lob = The quick cycle trick between these two abilities melts bosses for free, highest DPS combo in the game. I also really liked the damage of the EX roundabout on a few of the bosses.
- Charge shot is great for bosses that you only get a short window to attack them, I used it a few times on expert
- Heart +1 drops your DPS by 5%, Heart +2 drops your DPS by 10%, however IMO on a few of the plane bosses you really need the extra cushion to get to the end, even if it takes longer.
- I just want to put this out there, fuck the robot and mermaid on expert. I got a pretty good strat for the robot if you are interested.
Can you play this game with the dpad or do you have to use the analog stick?
on pc i played with a pad and its dpad…not sure how its on consoles…
Is Cuphead buggy on Xbox One? I’ve had 3 issues so far.
- The game didn’t even load the first time I tried to load it. An error eventually came up saying that it was taking too long to start the game but it worked the next time I tried.
- I paused it and turned off a controller because I had to go do something. On the screen it said that the controller was disconnected and to reconnect. So when I went back an hour or so later, it would not recognize the input once I turned the controller on. I had to restart the game to get it working.
- I’m definitely noticing some framerate issues and have seen frame drops multiple times, causing a slight hiccup, which is pretty jarring in this game.
I am on an Xbox One X so I don’t know if it’s just having these bugs on here or if this is how it was on the other consoles. Anyone experienced any of this?
