Except that you have to get through the best Wesker on the planet in order to get a **shot **at Phoenix.
Phoenix=Best character in the game. Pretty sure he does as well he does (along with 90% of the people who play her) because he plays Phoenix and not Wesker.
Out of the 7 people that played Phoenix in the top 32 at Evo, 4 of them were top 10…and there were 4 Weskers in top 10 out of a total of 8 used out of the 32. Considering there were 8 Weskers total used and you’re being all direct about EVO results BEST WESKER IN THE WORLD WON EVO on paper, you’re still wrong.
By these results, it is clear that marvel 3 is nothing more but spam a teleport, cross up, cover it with an assist or fake that cross up. I honestly thought that unblockables might be really good, but they suck in this game because the characters that can create unblockables (Felica, X23, Deadpool, Akuma) either all suck as characters if exchanged in or they have a better assist (Akumas case where Tatsu is 10X better for the combo ability) which therefore, would make the unblockable set up/team synergy messed up if X character dies. On top of that; Deadpool, Felicia, and X-23 have horrible XF while Wesker, Phoenix, Wolverine, Akuma, have probably the best XF abilities in the game. You can just fly away from X-23 because her aerial game is ass, same with felicia, and deadpool can only camp and chip you out and camping is horrible in this game.
I’ve said it a billion times, Marvel 3 is extremely fun and I enjoy it 
but if you take this game as SERIOUS BUSINESS…then, yeah.

I can’t believe i’m saying this but I agree with DJ (to a degree). Viscant is a great player but best Wesker he is not. His Wesker gets a lot of chances because people are worried about snapping phoenix in. So instead of killing Wesker on contact people are forced to snap in the real problem. Basically giving Wesker mulitple chances. If his Wesker was so good we would have seen more wesker come backs when phoenix went down. We didn’t see any of that. If phoenix died Viscant was done. That being said Viscant is still one of the smartest players out there. Reminds me of Rob. His execution isn’t the best but there is something to be said about someone just knowing how to win.
DJ you figured out the MvC3 formula why don’t you just go destory everyone? Saying the things you say about the game insult the people who take time to learn the game and who actually like the game. The reason I know and developed friendships Rob, Dru, Brian, Ty, Rich aka blackrich, Shubert, Ryan Lee, Phil, all of team waterbury etc… is because of Marvel. You may not care but we all have an attachment to the game that you will never understand. All those people I named were great players and we brought the best out of each other. Shit you think the CT scene is tough now bro? There used to be so much animosity between Waterbury, and Bridgeport we didn’t even speak to each other at tournies. I used to get booed all the time. Rob still has problems cheering for me. We had one thing in common Marvel and we still play and we still have fun. We don’t need you telling us how shitty the game is cause you don’t like the game, can’t figure it out, or whatever you reasoning is.

I don’t think he is the best Wesker either but that doesn’t really matter to me. He is as of a few weeks ago the best Marvel player in the world. Whether you say he won because of Phoenix or Wesker one thing remains true. He is the world champ at a game that is very hard to be a champion at.

Viscant is a very smart player, always has been great at dissecting the Vs series since Marvel 1 and earned his spot. His Phoeniz is NOT the reason he won. It was his team synergy. . . you know, the whole POINT OF THE GAME! People keep talking about characters when that doesnt mean shit in this game.

On an unrelated note: does anyone in CT have a QANBA Q4RAF joystick? Mine just arrived in the mail…I think it’s bricked, the damn thing doesn’t respond at all when plugged into my PS3, 360 or PC. I posted in the QANBA thread but it seems all that guy says to do is “please send internal pics!” and then expects you to somehow fix the problems yourself. Also doesn’t help that the entire instruction manual is in Chinese. Anybody else have problems with these?
