Ok, I like just about everyone I’ve met within CT, I don’t really ever post here (mostly because it’s 95% nonsense) but with the start of a new thread I’m hoping that can change.
Don’t jump I’m going to tell you this once just read it and take it in, don’t respond or rant or justify because I’m not going to respond. First and foremost you need to stop with the half page long theory fighting, it’s annoying nobody on this thread likes seeing it, you generalize about game systems and try and pass it off as recognized fact you spout your nonsense opinions about what character is great and what character is terrible based on your incredibly limited understanding and you honestly do make it sound like when anyone disagrees with you that you can’t possibly understand why. You really want to talk about how SSF4 is all about holding down back or x-factor is only useful if you wait until your last character go do it in the beginner threads or on the super or marvel boards, you want to talk about how Wesker has absolutely no options without assists, take it to the Wesker board those boards are there for a reason and other, better players will show you why your opinion makes sense or is completely wrong. The CT thread however is not the place for that, so please recognize this and just stop.
Two, stop making every other post about how online sucks and CT needs to have meetups outside of tournaments for casuals. We get it and for once I don’t think anybody will disagree with you online is not as good as playing with people in person. However as part of the new generation of fighters you don’t even count yourself or seem to know how lucky you are that you even have that option. Most of CT is southern and back before Super came out when it was 3S, CvS2, ST someone like me who lived up in Northern CT had practically almost no options to get games in with people outside of driving over an hour, so yes online isn’t as good but it isn’t the worst thing in the world and is an option you should be taking advantage of. Most of CT is older (I think you’ve mentioned you’re just a college kid) most have full time jobs on top of part time jobs, some have families, some don’t have vehicles and the list honestly goes on and on about why a lot of people can’t have regular gatherings.
You mentioned how people need to meet you in person and judge you there where it actually matters, so understand this, posting online in THIS thread does matter. You’re not anonymous here dude everything you say on here is a reflection of you because people associate your words with you, not just some internet guy, someone mentioned how maybe your posts here are a reason why when gatherings do happen you don’t get invited, I think you seriously need to think about that statement. Someone also pointed out that PF is not the only tournament in CT and they are right, my tournament in Middletown is every month and I think every single time you have said you were coming only to be a no show.
So relax dude, keep your opinions on the boards where they can be heard and responded too, stop complaining about online and jump in and get some games in with people and actually have a good time doing it (I laugh almost non stop whenever I am in a party with CT) and become a member of the community people actually want to have around. You want to make a post a week about offline gatherings no one is going to fault you for that, but the nonstop complaining about them needs to come to an end. I hope you actually take all this in and I didn’t waste ten minutes typing it out because if you don’t you are going to get yourself banned and probably shunned from the community and that’s not good for anybody.
As for the rest of CT sorry for the crazy long post, you know I like you guys and I hope to be around here a bit more often!
Oh and Phil I don’t know if you’ll see this before you go shopping but look into backpacker’s bags that people use when they go on long trips. Those things are super roomy and easy to carry I still use mine as a general luggage container whenever I go on trips, just might work out for you.
