yo guys is that place open like around 5 or 6 or if you let me know what’s the latest that’s open, one more thing is there 3s players around that time, well if it’s open.
It should close at like 8 or 9 PM I think
Yeah, Vas, you irvine guys should come up and whoop our ass sometime. Set a day that you guys could make it up for an afternoon, I’ll make sure to assemble the CSULB power rangers for a rumble! lol. Though I hope I might be a better challenge now than in the past.
And the place is open until about 9:45 pm m-f (they come by and tell you “Last Game”), and only till like 5 or 6 on saturdays, closed on sundays.
3s is all but dead, last fall it was alive and strong. Ever since CvS2 came in, that is the game of choice. There are about 2 really decent 3s players there, and a handfull of us that can hold our own at the game. Problem is we’re too busy having fun playing CvS2 : P (except the night when the put everything on Free Play)
I was considering running a tourney here, since there is CvS2, T5, MvC2, and 3s. Main problem is that if we did it on a saturday, it would have to start early because it closes so early, or I’d have to get special permission (not sure how hard that would be).
lol I embarrased myself today vs your Iori, hopefully I get to play you again sometime
2 on 2, 3 on 3 MM might persuade me to drive up there.
btw, vasaznion aka allen is in norcal forever so he wont be coming.
wtf, norcal? Wow, when did that happen?
As for money matches, there might be 3 of us I think would be decent enough to MM, though I am pretty sure we would still get stomped, it might make things interesting. I’ll talk to the guys and see whats up.
Maybe we’ll come down to one of your gatherings just to see what level we’re at.\
Oh yeah, vs Iori, I was really just expecting to mess around and get my ass beat, but for some reason Iori was giving people trouble, even though I kept fucking up the custom. Iori, Eagle, Rolento got a good 12 or so wins I think (with a huge crowd gathered too, wtf) before I got peaced out. That wasn’t supposed to happen! Good games though, stop by in the afternoon more.
youre welcome to come this sunday as long as ya’ll dont bang on my stick too hard no homo. read uci thread.
man I gotta ditch work one day to play in the afternoon, it was fun playing your akuma and dhalsim, makes me wanna practice more haha
Haha, I have fun playing Dhalsim. The way to own me is to just rush me down into a corner, and fuck the shit out of dhalsim. When I’m knocked down, and you jump in, theres not much I can do to counter except for teleport out of that shit, which I tend not to do. The reason that 75% of the people who lose to my dhalsim at school is because once they get me locked down, and I’m raged, they tend to want to keep the momentum going and keep pressuring me. However, at this point, I have my qcb, qcb+punch super as a wake-up anti air, and people just get peaced out after that.
So, play patient against dhalsim. I play the entire match with the intentions to keep you away, so get close and watch him crumble.
Akuma is my favorite to play, hands down. Sets the tone of the match nicely. And until people learn, I can raging demon on them all day. Once they learn, I can still punish them because they’re expecting the demon, and eat a combo to super-fireball instead. Still more, once they learn to avoid that, I go back to the Demon. Mind games at its best : )
Having a ton of fun playing A-honda, Eagle, Rolento though (or A-Iori, Eagle, Rolento… hell, if its a tough match, A-Eagle/Honda, Sakura, Rolento). Most of the people who end up playing A-groove stick to the basic combos (You know, Ken’s S.RH, Nak’s DF.RH, Kyo’s DF.RH, Mai’s sliding kick, etc etc) instead of taking Customs to the next level, which IMO takes a lot of practice at home on a stick.
You definitely need to come and play more, the only way to get better is to play people better than you (or, spend 10 hours a day in training mode and make sure your execution is 100%, which puts you even with somebody that has 10 hours a week of match experience).
Whats going on? Crowds have been thinning out lately… am I really scaring everyone away too much lately? : P
A-Iori, Eagle, Rolento for the win!
I really wanna see you play that once asian dude, he’s the one who you handed the 20 wins to and he handed it back. He has very good sense of timing and always picks random chars just to fuck around, and owns.
Yeah, I don’t know if I’ve ever played against him, but I know it would be a close match. He seems to have a knack for adapting.
When I left him my game, he said “I don’t know how to play these characters!” I didn’t really expect the streak to last. When I got back, I asked him,
"I thought you didn’t know how to play those characters!?“
And he simply responded
"I just did what you did.”
Lol, pretty slick, X-Copying somebody you see play for just a few matches and holding that shit down. There is definitely some decent people there, but then there is some people who never learn (R4 Gief player, same guy who picks Benimaru sometimes, I’m looking in your direction!) or who just don’t want to learn. The guy playing A Nak, Kyo, Ken is trying to learn, its just his CCs are too basic and he hasn’t learned not to jump and roll all the time.
A- Iori, Eagle, Rolento has been my team lately, since It is challenging for me to play and not dominate everyone like K-akuma, sim/blanka, cammy is. However, when somebody hands me my ass, I bring back the K-ABC team : )
Haha it’s fair to switch back to that destruction team after you lose, especially since some people just come out guns ablazing when they see the tougher players. And that guy is extrmely good at adapting, and at reading how you play, once I had him pick a crazy roster and he dominated us haha, I can hang with him now but before he ate me alive. Is the R4 gief player the guy that chooses blanka/gief? That guy is pretty predictable and never really improves, gets pretty pissed when he loses too.
Yup, thats the guy. Fucker always uses the same roll -> anything tactics, and gets owned hard every time… and gets PISSED everytime. He doesn’t learn how to adapt, he just keeps doing the same shit. Sadly, I saw him beating a few random people the other day. How sad : (
I want to try and organize a CSULB get together, probably on console somewhere so we don’t have to pay 50 cents a game. I have an apt near campus, but its kinda small to fit more than like 4 people in to play together. You down to get together sometime, probably on a tuesday night or a sunday night? We could practice and improve and talk tips. I have a decent TV and one stick, I can try and get my second stick back or borrow the stick I made for a friend (or use the crappy Un-modded pelican universal I have) for playing, somehow we’ll make it work.
Invitation is open to whoever reads this thread, just let me know.
Sounds good, me and my friend have unmodded Anniversary sticks we can use too, need to fix them up soon.
Man, I’m itching for some good CvS2 matches this week, I feel like going off with Akuma and Blanka and just decimating people.
who do i have to punch in the face to change the price on 3s cvs2 mvc2? 50 cents is a goddamn ripoff.
We should talk to the person who is in charge of the game room, I heard from some guys on my first semester they did that to get the SC2 machine to be 1 quarter continue. 3s is already like that so it’s not bad.
i know all the workers in the Union and i ve talked with the manager and he says that all the arcade stuff is owned by some seperate company. all the union workers can do is turn on and off the machines.
on another note, rock beats all yo asses. and third strike is a great game which should get more play time. all i see that play it are a few decent people and a lot of people who just jump kick and sweep. really sad.:lame:
3S was really hot until CvS2 came in. Now we all play that. I still enjoy 3s, but it seems like CvS2 is where the action is going ot stay.
There is definitely a separate company that runs the machines, no doubt about that. That is why the workers come in every so often and make sure everything is working ok. Next time we should hit them up for the 25 cents to continue on CvS2, but they make so much money off us as is, I don’t see it happening.
Chun > Your rock, bet that shit. And I just started playing her last week or so, haha.
