Okay, finally back to this! Just so happens that I have a Guile ready for this week! I’ve got some head shots of Gen and Ryu so far but after I do two more at least I’ll post that up to try 'n catch up. I’m really happy with how Gen came out too. I’ve also got a dan I’ve finished but I need to scan it. So I’m partially there already. Thanks to all of you for keeping this thread alive. It’s hard to be dedicated to doing one a week without other stuff popping up.
Okay guys, got one more ready for ya. It’s those headshots I was talking about. I did Ryu, Gouken and Akuma all just now and I’m getting sleepy. I think that shows in my Akuma.
I feel like a guy, who just found out about a party and is showing up late. This is my first post, so hopefully I won’t disappoint any of the other amazing artists on this message board.
I love Dan Hibiki, lol. What can I say? I just love his unabashed arrogance and comedic stupidity, lol. He’s just awesome. Only Dan can be a character that can stand there with a look of seriousness, and proclaim his own greatness in a sign, lol. Enjoy.
Here’s a sketch of Ryu I did a while back, while fooling around with some design markers to create the Hadouken effect and the energy it seeps out, when he’s collecting the chi.
I used photoshop. One of the natural brushes (#19 I think)with size jitter, 100% opacity to block in the shapes. Then one of the chalk brushes with opacity jitter to blend where I need to.
When do we start voting for the next SRK community Challege?
I propose an alternate costume challenge. You post your ideas and art for alternate costumes of whatever characters you want. The people at the PC Mega thread might like a few ideas and begin work on making your ideas real if they are interesting enough.
If it can’t be a challenge, I can just make a thread for it and we can work from there. What I like is that you aren’t just drawing the characters but you are challenging yourself to think creatively about new costumes and how/why it works for the character you choose.
