Damn kando I think that’s your best Akuma yet. Face is very nice. Only thing is that at first glance I see too many highlights and muscles. Other than that the pants painted very nicely.
Hanz - I cut it off for guys like you. Nah haha. Compositional purposes is why I cut it off. Tried to get it to look like she’s coming in from the page. If I showed her butt the face would totally lose focus.
Ugh, I must’ve drawn and re-drawn Yun and Yang several dozen times. I hate Yang and that stupid hair cut, I don’t draw anime style so it was really hard for me to draw it. Until I realized his hair could just be Emo/Iori style and he would still be recognizable since it will just look like he didn’t apply gel on his hair.
Still not very satisfied with this one, the original plan was that they are all surrounded by Triads and are about to kick ass (hence Yang’s ready stance and Yun’s bravado) but I realize I don’t have enough paper or scanner to do the whole thing (on a 8 1/2x11 paper, I can only photograph half that size to get a clear well lit picture). Will probably re-do this someday.
PS.
I just realized Yun’s left hand is all wrong. lol There’s no way the middle finger stretches all that much straight when the index finger is curled. bah… redo someday.
EDIT:
Fixed Yun’s left hand/finger and better lighting in the photo this time.
Probably the piece that took me the least time to do, rushed pencils but it turned out better than I thought.
I can’t color if my life depended on it so I just colored it in the two most basic colors Ken is known for… Red and Yellow (Red Gi, Blonde Hair and combined for Fire). Red Gradient starting from the bottom left corner into Yellow Gradient on the top right corner.
Zoom blur applied to the fist to simulate motion, the pencils itself is pretty plain without it.
Sorry if I haven’t been leaving comments, been too busy lately.
I will comment on EVERYTHING once the challenge is done, I hate to rush looking at all of the amazing stuff that you guys are doing, I wanna let sink and totally absorb and analyze it once everything is done Keep up the great work !!!
nice. carefull how you place your highlights man, they’re too close to the edge. SFMC posted a tut about this a few many pages back. When you do it like that with the darks in the adjacent edge, it makes the form flatten
I’d like to comment, but I am a crappy commenter. I’d just be like "I like the colors, and um, the…um…hands ? " Or the very helpful, “That’s cool, I like it !”
I can barely draw myself so don’t expect me to try and teach, lol.
I have to catch up though, I am very berry behind.
