Yeah, akuma isn’t really a fan of trades
I have been practicing implementing Option selects in my game and its been working out for the most part. I have been using the OS tatsu on bison. i will use the the roundhouse less. Thx though.

That was good play! In the 2nd vid I thought to myself: He’s going to have to land a Raging Demon for this win. And then you did.
Thanks man I was hoping for 1 opportunity to land it and I took that shit lol
It was a joke
here’s a few more vids of my kuma input will be most appreciated

I was lucky and my friend played poorly, which scored me a perfect:

He actually plays a lot better than I do. This replay is old, on the latest ones he nearly perfects me twice on a couple of fights.
Alrighty guys, first batch of uploads from my new recording set up. Still tweaking the settings to get maximum quality with as little de-synching as possible. Ive noticed that my biggest problem, besides sucking and being predictable is I haven’t studied any match ups at all. So Im gonna go read up on what I should be doing in each match and hopefully that’ll improve my game play

Interesting note in this fight. In the third round I attempt an overhead on Rufus, but he pulled out his Ultra II. I cancelled the overhead into Ultra I and grabbed him out of it. Don’t know if this is common knowledge or not.

Not much to say about this match, if he could block my cross ups in the 2nd and 3rd round it would have lasted longer

Another Claw fight. Kept going to the same Tourney lobby and it was him and me in the Grand Finals every time but I just couldnt beat him

This has been the best Cody Ive faced, and I really dont know the match up at all. I got lucky a few times despite messing up quite a bit and pulled out a win

One of the best Claws Ive faced, but I dont see very many. Again Im not familiar with the match up so Im probably letting him get away with a lot more than I should have
Jecht, nice demons all around especially the ultra on rufus’s typhoon. Nothing wrong just maybe take your skills to the next level, whatever that may be. (Only if I could be as good I’d be a happy demon.) So lk is the prefered crossup mixup eh. I’ve been using mk and getting thrown left and right cause it doesn’t hit … ugh. Where have I been getting it all wrong lol. Got it now. This will help my game greatly .
That’s also my color of choice too lol.
Nah, I just have a bad habit of using j.lk coming over from playing Ibuki. It doesnt have as much block / hit stun so if I do it too early I’ll be hurting on the way down. j.lk is good to use ambiguously but if you use it all the time like I do then it loses that factor.
Any advice versus Ibuki guys? I fight my friend Zamul60, all I know I can’t make hadoken or air hado when he has 1 EX, and I can focus back dash in kunais.
The battle: fuFxhtn3kro]YouTube - SSFIV - SpyxTEC (Gouki) vs ZamulTEC (Ibuki) [2010-06-28 thanks.
Spyxtec, good corner pressure and lockdown. That’s effective against mostly all opponents except dp chars but still good. As for when ibuki has meter just be patient till it’s used. No way around it. I usually bait it and punish the ex slide on block.
Jecht, maybe lk has less stun but it’s working better than mk for now so i’m sticking to it till i get mk figured out lol.
Akumas reset
Wassup fellas, I am having trouble doing Tokidos (or infiltration, my minds failing) Akuma reset that he show cased at Evolution 2010.
For those who dont know what Im talking about it is basically how he starts his combo with a standing fierce into lk tatsu then hits either another standing fierce to reset and immediately goes into Demon flip palm.
Something similar to this, at the start
My problem is I am using a pad. I feel I have finally reached a plateau being a pad player. I main Ryu and AKuma, at about 3k PP and 6K bp, but I cant seem to hit that “second fierce” ( the one that resets the opponent) consistently enough, it simply wont come out. I have a better chance of mashing FP to “make” it come out, and if it DOES come out I simply cant get the demon flip to come out immediately after it.
Is there a certain particular trick or timing to this? Or maybe this reset simply cannot be done consistently with a pad?
On that note I have an excellent ps3 hori stick and have only practiced a few months but not quite there yet, I cant get my fingers to move from the top to the bottom row of buttons in complex combos and scenarios yet.
Keeping within this context, I have my arcade stick button setup as LP MP Fp and 3Punches for the top row and similarly for the kick buttons on the botton row. Is this the preferred setup?

Great set with VeNOM from here on SRK. First match we were warming up, rest of them is pretty good stuff. We both had our share of mistakes but all around great set of matches imo
Youre thinking way too hard about this seeing as its pretty simple, you must be doing it too early. On some characters the timing is more strict but still easy but idk that might be subjective. Just try it a couple times in training mode and if youre missing it just wait a little longer each time.
It just plain takes practice. When I first started using Akuma I felt it was too fickle to actually perform online consistently and figured I’d never use it.
Fast forward a bit and its a common trick I use without thinking. One way to time it is to watch Akuma’s knees. When he descends from the tatsu he crouches briefly. It isn’t until this little animation is complete (or about to complete) that the game will actually accept your next single button press input - in this case the cs.hp.
I also feel the whole thing has a rhythm to it whereby I can now perform this reset without paying attention to whats happening and have managed to get a good handle on the required timing. I’d also imagine you could plink the input (hp~mp) to maximise your chances of landing it.
Keep in mind that this particular reset doesn’t work on Ibuki as LoyalSol discovered some weeks back.
Thanks that helps a lot, ill keep practicing. I have been so tempted to break into using a stick but I cant stand the time it takes to get good at it, I dont have the time to be practicing a stick, and plus I hate losing to scrubs when Im using a stick.
Is the PS3 dual shock the best pad for fgames? The fightpad is good but the reliability is horrible from what I have read online.
^ To be honest, I find cr.lp a lot more consistent. cl.hp seems distance dependent. If I’m super close it never seems to hit for me
