Wow, those matches was crappy to watch, is that The tokido? I Guess online makes even good players look silly sometimes.
My own replays over these

if you guys could tell me what i could do to improve my game with gouki then that would be highly apprecieated.

Oh boy… Where to begin? I think I’ll let better Akuma players describe the MANY ways you went wrong, but two things off the top of my head:

  • Stop spamming inputs!
  • Don’t play Akuma like he was Ryu

For the level you’re at at present explaining character strategy & certain tactics would bea bit pointless. For now take these fundemental notes with you.

  • Don’t teleport IN, you’ll get away with it now, but later you’ll eat punishment every time. This is not a habit you want to keep.

  • Learn to execute better, you physically messed up Raging Demon, this online is just crazy… & with such basic execution flaws you’re ability to progress & learn matchup strategy is going to be nearly impossible.

  • Learn a simple punish combo… & try & execute it, at present when he fucked up you threw… this is pretty common, but you’ll want to get more in these oppertunities. either practice hard on a good one like HP -> LK Tatsu -> HP SRK or go for a simpler one like close HP -> HK Tatsu. (Hell even just HP SRK or Tatsu is better than just a throw)

  • Be careful with Focusing while your opponent is down, later stages this won’t work, in fact when you meet the “I <3 SRK brigade” you’ll realise this yourself.

  • Try & ease up on the mashing.

Whatsimportant now is you continue to progress without learning, or keeping bad habits.

**Hadouken fox:
**

  1. You were playing a very random style, lots of spamming and randomness.
  2. Don’t use the Tatsu so openly like that, it will be punished. Use it within a combo instead.
  3. Learn the input for Raging Demon and when to use it (ex. on a jump-in).
  4. Never use teleport to advance forward, use it only to escape an attack or corner trap.

Basically to sum everything up: be more patient and “controlled”. What I mean by this is use hadoukens and pokes to zone, and then react to jumps with the SRK. Once the enemy is down then move in with the demon flip palm, dive kick, demon throw, and so forth. Try to make this a habit. I’ll write a bit more later, I have lunch waiting for me  Best of luck, I’m also trying to make a good Akuma.

Here’s a recent match I had with a pretty good Gouken player. Sorry about the poor quality as I recorded the match on my Iphone. All critiques are welcome, as I’ve only been playing Akuma regularly for 5 months now.

^^When he palms through your projectile you should mash SRK^^

wither way you can’t lose, if he hits, he’d ave hit you anyway, you block it & he gains advantage (Through chip damage)

that said i say that, sometimes the gut reaction is just to hold back, i do thatagainst Rog all the time >_<

Pokey, spam LP or HP SRK? Im assuming LP to decrease the chance of whiffing and eating a big combo on the way down.

I looked at my match again and I noticed that I let him jump in on me way to many times. I have to punish jump ins with SRKs. I can’t let player jump in on me for free.

My match against a Bison
been told i should jump less, but besides that what else?

It was a very nice match  Maybe you should try focusing whenever he does devil’s reverse or tries to hit you with that hand thing after a headstomp. You can get a LV2 FA if you time it right.

Definately high punch SRK, this isn’t a move you want to trade wit & HP SRK has more I-frames. either way if you don’t recover in time he’ll hit you anyway, the idea is if you can block, you can utilize SRK’s Iframes instead (Or Demon if you feel you’re up for the task, though i’ve had bad experiences demoning his palm.)

That said after you do it, be weary, as they might bait with LP Palm, in which case it’s harder for him to course through your projectile.

Oh wow i gotta try that

The vortex type stuff works really great against Gouken. After a knockdown demon flip throw and palm work him pretty hard. Palm beats his counter move and throw beats counter and block. His only real options against those are to wake up backdash or ex demon flip out, but the flip usually leaves him right behind you. So, my advice is to practice on keeping that loop going longer. For example in one of the rounds, you got him like twice in a row but ended your cr.jabs with ex tatsu. That pushed him away and stopped your loop.

Stay free, Denmark

Ah man where do I begin with this load of crap?!

Just kidding.

You gave him too much freedom in the air. You need to punish all jump ins and with Akuma there is almost no excuse not to. With a tool as easy as his c.HP to use you should always be punishing his air attempts with something. For his devil’s reverse you can use c.MK to get a full combo if he attempts to hit you with it. You also had a bad tendency to spam HK.

Lastly you need to learn how to Option select his wake up. A better Bison would have just laughed at the pressure you put on.

Overall it was a nice effort, but there are a few points where a better Bison would have you for lunch.

^If he does devil’s reverse or the headstomp followup and you stay stationary until the last moment and cr.mk, DR will whiff and you’ll hit him? or you gotta walk back a little?

Can you cr.HP the headstomp? Its so scary to me, it beats almost everything. And if you try to DP late your DP will whiff? I don’t know why I’m just not trying this in training

see i wish i had skill like that but for some damn reason i get jumpy.

c.HP will trade with a non-EX headstomp. Now this is useful if he is close to dead and the trade will kill him, but otherwise it is best to move out of the way and punish the whiff.
