- fun ending, you think he’d of learnt from the first time he tried to Focus my wake up.
For Barlog, you have to use your basic skills, then just know whats punishable.
Keep your zoning, FBs and Air FBs obviously. DP jump-ins.
Then you got the meta-game. Balrogs most safe dash punches are focusable. I think you have to challenge him to break your focus if he wants to get in quickly. If you focus a dash straight and make them eat a full combo, they will probably come at you with the armor break or overhead. On block you can easily far jab> sweep those.
Jab/Throw spam has to be frame-trapped. This is as simple as jab jab (Pause) MP. On counter hit, you can get the sweep.
EX grabs need to be grabbed on reaction, this sets up the hard knockdown.
On hard knockdown, you can OS a EX DP in your safe-jump or palm. If they get complacent, grab or empty jump on the other side and do crouch tech. If they grab you break, if they aren’t block you can start a BnB.
The match is all about know the particular rog’s tendencies, and knowing how to beat that. Hope this helps.
yeah, that helps West. You play any Viper players in NC? I need help with that matchup as well… I’ll see if I got more matches with deviljin saved and I’ll record them.
I’ll sit down and go through some stuff for tonight.
Yeah there are some good vipers here. Best advice I have is don’t get hit with those FFF combos. Always sweep after BnB cause her wakeup is weak. You can OS your safejump against her to prevent eating EX feint > grab. I know DJ just loves that setup.
Stopped watching when I saw you were using U1…you fraud.
i can do it up to 5 hits then do another light punch to a tatsu just need to know the timing which is super strict so i am trying to get muscle memory for that reason to do that attack.
it really isn’t worth it to do anymore in my opinion.
just go for stand jab -> tatsu -> sweep or stand jab -> sweep.
the main point is that sagat is put in an untechable knockdown, and he didnt mash uppercut out of your blockstring (which that sagat couldve done)
I finally got some matches in against some decent players and actually recorded them. Though once again I am pissed at myself for playing West, Lord, and Valleyking last night and forgetting to save the replays. I hate how fast the battle log empties. You go and play a few matches and lose a ton of endless battles.

Don’t be afraid to point out mistakes. I go through the matches and try to pick out some mistakes, but I do miss a couple here and there. Though to save you an obvious one, yes I know careful with fireballs when Ken has U2.
i hate that Ken… he said I am free. Just cuz I play Aggro, dont SRK jumpins and idk how to option select I congratulate u for beating him. His kara grabs are annoying and he spams too much which i dont plus my zoning is horrible so I love your akuma but I still wanna quit SSFIV cuz my medical handicaps making me hate life and everything in it.
And I hate to be the blast shield, but let’s ease off of Shintei shall we? He seems to be humbled and also willing to learn. Let’s give him another chance.
Vs. Ken: That guy was so full of himself! He got lucky in the 1st match, then he wins the 1st round in the 2nd match and starts spamming random DPs like you’re some kind of scrub? The only thing I noted against him is that you were using quite a lot of EX meter in that matchup. It’s a mistake I do myself and I often end up towards the end of a match thinking “Boy could I use some EX right here to build some pressure!”… Instead you had to gamble on a cross-up tatsu that missed and he kara threw you FTW. Second match was better, but he basically gave it to you on a silver platter after the 1st round.
Vs Gief: Sigh… I don’t like this matchup. You can’t vortex him. You can’t really zone him because he can either lariat through fireballs or green hand to stuff 'em. You can’t rely on DF too much because it has to be perfectly executed otherwise he can still get you with a lariat or reversal SPD on block. You just basically have to run away the entire match and keep chipping away at his 1100 health points. I don’t really see how you could’ve done better here. The only real mistake you did was in the 2nd match @ around 2:26 when you went for the c.MK to buffer the Ultra and you missed. He locked you down and then did a random ultra that caught you by surprise.
Good matches! And LOL at the mook who called you a “scrub” in the 1st Zangief match comments.
