I dont jump at Gief all the time…I would say 20% of a match I jump at Gief but when I do I use either a Dive kick or a DF kick…either way I would rather trade and get less damage in return than not trade and suffer full damage…that’s all I’m saying. I would like to know who would rather take in full damage than less damage with a trade? BTw when I either use a Dive kick or a DF kick and is block I immediately teleport especially against a Gief player…I learned not to be a hero and try to grab or try to perform a s.HP into a DF grab I just teleport for safety.
Akuma does not have the life to trade. If you consider trading attacks affordable on his tab, you need to reconsider some life decisions. What I -really- need to do is not put myself in the situations where I should trade is what I think they are trying to say.

That doesn’t always work. Not to mention if you are predictable with the teleports Gief has the tools to punish it.
Another reason not to jump at Gief is his headbutt and the ridiculous stun it does.

Hey guys, i participated in a torney here in brazil last week and i got 5th losing to my cosin who played very well against me with Rog and then later losing to a very good gief. I got nervous and started with the wrong strategy against the gief, i even used focus, what was i thinking ? Anyway, i’ll be posting the videos in the order they show up. I liked your patience to finish the Ryu off with fireballs at the end of round one in the second set. Shot a ton before attacking. I did -not- like the tiger kneed fireballs on Ryu’s wake up. Very unsafe vs Ryu. Overall fun video to watch. Thanks for the post.

To be honest im pretty much 100% with the loop on casuals. Tourneys are a different history. I need to practice the tournament enviroment. But thanks.

I get all shaky in tournaments, my friends were trying to calm me down but its tough.
Just find a way to calm yourself down and shift all that tension into your concentration.

good stuff sarda…that ryu had me rollin…those kind of ryu’s are scarry becuase you can’t really read them…they just do random shit and are hella jumpy…you did a good job of bait and punish…
2 things…
1)walk him down more…he’ll jump…free cHP/dP and just keep him max sweep range and just poke him
2)…please don’t use sHK against ryu…I know he didn’t punish you…but you should’ve eaten 3 dp->fadc->ultras…I winced everytime there was that openings…but that god he didn’t realize it…

Thanks for the comments Bokkin. Yeah, beaches rox >D I live really far from the ocean but when we have time we travel to the beaches here. Rio is amazing and there are also smaller beaches with less people that are really beautiful.
Thats one of my major problems, Random Ryus. I’m trying to practice exactly what you said about the walk forward, bait stuff. About the s.hk, i’m not very used to play Ryus, most of the time i play Rogs, Giefs and Sagats, so you see my tendency to go for s.hks sometimes.

turn those cr.HPs into DPs
when you throw fireballs to bait jumps and DP them, are you buffering the DP in your fireball recovery? and whats a proper spacing so a hp.dp would catch them and not trade from like a max range j.hk from a ryu.
I’ve always been kinda poor with my spacing and anti-airing, basically i block/focus and play a lot of matches to build strong reactionary fundamentals for cr.hp and cr.mk > ultra. But the ryus who have godlk reactions and DP every jumpin…i need it too.
Or cr.HP xx demon flip.
^only good if the jup in is near overhead…otherwise you get trades with ryu’s godly jHK…but yeah cHP->demon flip is kinda beastly to sway momentum…you gotta judge the distances on the fly though…I hate trading…which is why I mostly use dP
