I keep reading articles discussing how this movie is being aimed at ‘urban’ audiences, in some veiled attempt at quasi-racism. To me, this is being marketed to young people, boxing fans, fighting fans, Rocky fans, and anybody else who is interested. The fact that it’s about Apollo Creed’s kid (who is black), and has him deal with traditionally black themes, does not make this an ‘urban’ movie. If anything, it’s a movie for poor people, trying to make something of themselves in the world.
Fuck, I think I’ve rewatched this trailer more than the Ant-Man trailer, or a lot of the Marvel trailers o.0
I might actually see this in theatres.
