Cranston RI GameStop "Farewell to Marvel 3" Tourn. Nov. 13

Hey guys I work at GameStop in Cranston in the Chapel View Plaza (not the huge one near K-Mart the smaller one in Cranston). I spoke to my manager about having a tournament to coincide with the release of Ultimate and he said yes so details are below. In regards to sign-up I prefer if you can come into the store to sign up but if you can’t, message me before Nov. 12th with your name or call the store before the 12th and put your name in 401-275-0253

IT’S MAHVEL BABY!!!
Join us at Chapel View GameStop in Cranston on Sunday November 13 for a farewell tournament for Marvel vs. Capcom 3!
FREE PIZZA AND SODA (Yes soda, Cola and Lemon-lime GET HYPE!!!)

Tournament starts at 1:00 PM
No walk-ins, pre-registration only
Just read the rules and sign up in store.
RULES:
· Due to time constraints, space constraints, and TV limitations the tournament will be single-elimination, best of 3 sets. Bracket will be set up when you come in so you can see where you are in it but know that when your match comes I will call your name 3 times if you don’t show up you will be DQ’d (Mike Ross isn’t safe and neither are you!)

· Also, because of these constraints the tournament will be limited to 52 entrants, however anyone who wants to spectate can (within reason the store isn’t huge and we will be open during the tournament)

· Two TE sticks will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Also, if you are a pad player you **MUST **bring your own pad (Xbox 360)
· Grand finals will be first to 5

· This is a public place so keep it clean. I know everyone gets salty at some point but foul language will not be tolerated and you will be removed from the tournament and the store. Basically anything you couldn’t do or say in the store during normal business hours you can’t do during the tournament. Plus, the better this tourney goes the higher chance I have of being able to set up more.

· Winner gets a free strategy guide for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and a giftcard to GameStop

After the finals on the midnight launch we may be able to get some UMvC3 casuals. Because of certain rules about Street Dates and such this may not be possible.

Location: 1000 Chapel View Blvd. off of New London Ave. we don’t show up on GPSes so if you don’t know the area use Garden City in Cranston as a landmark because it shows up on GPSes and look for the plaza with the huge stone column (seriously it’s like 100) feet tall. We are up the hill from Garden City in the plaza across from Shaws, and we are right next to Johnny Rockets WE ARE NOT THE CRANSTON STORE LOCATED NEAR K-MART AND LOWE’S!!!

Update: We will also be giving away a GameStop giftcard as well as a guide for the winner! Also, if you really can’t make it to the store beforehand to sign up, message me your name as you want it in the tournament, if the bracket is full I will message you back to let you know.

Won’t be able to make the Sunday tournament OR midnight release, but I’m gonna help spread the word. Good luck!

i would go to this as i am 10 min away but the having to make the midnight release is impossible for me.

You’re not the first to say this, people in the store have said it too so I’ve decided to change that. We’ll run the whole tournament that day and just have casuals during the midnight, hopefully UMvC3

if thats the case i will show up. so sign me up please

Got a couple people going, trying to get some more. Wish I didn’t have to work that day. Maybe I’ll see some of you guys at MLG?

LOL Ralph wins.

That’s awesome man! If you could message me their names or just have them go into/call the store 401-275-0253 and give an employee their names to put on the list. Also, I definitely plan on going to MLG. I’m working like 40 hours and a new fight stick bought from MarkMan personally would be a nice present for myself.

Hey, I just found about this tourney, any chance I can squeeze in?

I would try calling the store. He might put you in regardless if the sign-ups were due before today.

Heard about 24 people showed up. Pretty good for a first run!

Just wanted to say thanks for running the tourney it was pretty fun and went smooth. I’m looking forward to going to future events. That T.V was killing me man and dat Haggar assist. GGs to those I played.

Yup, Ralph won.

yes , yes i did

Hey I want to give a huge thanks to everyone who showed up or spread the word about it. It was awesome getting this many people there for the tournament. Once again I apologize immensely for the TV but like I said we won’t be using that one in the future, I’m going to try to get a couple ASUS monitors so we can have multiple brackets and/or games and no more lag. I definitely want to do more but it might be a while since we will be super busy around the holidays.
