For water defense I’ve got a couple deensive setups. With alot of money endless survival - damn I need to reinstall photoshop so I can take screen caps I have two colums in the water of the 8-Way mushroom forget name atm, all in pumpkins, backed by cat tails with the first four in pumpkins for when zombies burstfrom the bottom. With less money, two iced watermelons in the rear, some watermelons, and then I block the SECOND column with a tall wallnut + pumpkin. First column gets by passed too much during “MORE ZOMBIEs OH NOOSEEE!”.
When playing cheap? two colums of freeze peas whatever with random ass wallnuts and a squash waiting in the wing.
Try typing ‘Future’ or ‘Mustache’ while playing. Do both actually. And get the game, its one of those games where when you first get it, you cease to exist for a couple days, but then you integrate it into your ‘previous’ lifestyle and play shorter sessions - especially after the first 1.5-2 play thrus. The last boss is SO easy to beat now that I figured out how to beat him quickly heh. The car HURTS though.
Update…got survival to 36 or 37 days. Finally cleared everythign elsei n the game too. Did my own ‘farm’ pattern for LAst Stand…no where near that much money, but I stil lwas milking from like 14 plants, just coudln’t figure out how to finaicially get mroe marrigolds. I did somethign similar with the onions - but it fed guys into a row with 2x watermellon and 1x frozen pea.
I started playing at what I thought was 9something. First time too btw. I stopped round 11:30ish? Game is crack for real. It’s evident that you are supposed to be addicted to this game because Popcap only gives you the option for ‘Next Level’ after each stage.
I’m on 3-1 now. Man the Dancing/Michael Jackson zombie was nuts. “What the hell is this moon walking mofo bout to do? OH SHIT MOMMA!!! HE SUMMONED FOUR BACKUP DANCERS!!! OH SHIT!”
I told you the MJ zombie was the truth…straight avatar material. FYI he dies pretty bad to the spikeweeds…just one will kill him because he’s so slow getting his groove on.

Yeah started my second playthrough. Omg what a last level. I’m so glad that reviews didn’t spoil many of the treats in this game. I can see how you can sink 40 hours into it. Too much fun shit to do.
I didn’t want to post unti lI finished this game inside and out will start a 2nd playthrough in a few days but for your info LOVE the Ice melons. the splash damage remains from the reg melons but the slowdown of the ice is also affected by splash damage so a few of them can help slow down a wave of zombies.
the kernel launcher is a coin toss. I liked it at first but it can be taken down easily if you can’t protect it very expensive but it’s a constant source of a cherry bomb like explosion. IMO too expensive for what it does.
Frozen melon is ‘neh’. I used to swear by it, but it really does ‘half damage’ of normal melons as its fir rate is cut in half. If you put like one in the 2 and 4th rows and us melons everywhere else you get pretty good dmg. Its definatly worth the cost. The best purchases though are the upgraded puffshroom, spikeweed, and cattail. The clone plant whatever is great for getting up quicker when daytime and planintg extra shrroms for free at nyte time. Kernel upgrade is completely worthless. the fire speed is SO slow that you might as well ust strap up with cherry bombs, and it takes up two colums and can completley disrupt any flow you have for defense because of this. Make sure to protect it well though, it can be air lifted >_<
So I’m almost done with my second playthrough. Completed all the mini games and I just need to get my streaks in Puzzle. Working on survival and my zen garden is doing very well.
Yeah well now it’s confirmed for XBLA. But I’m not going to get it though unless there are some terrific multiplayer modes like with Peggle. As good as PvZ is once you get a lot of the final seeds and seed slots, it gets easy. The Cat Tails are just a broken force. I limit myself just to have more fun which should never be the case.
Try survival endless…then talk about the “random ass” Peggle difficulty. The purps increase in price every time you use them, so equipping cat tails takes up ridiculous money …dont get em started on frozen melons. fighting off NINE of the red eyed goliath things (take 3 super hits to kill)…ugh. I’ve gottne up to 37 days purely off luck on the last two days…I just bombed and bombed and bombed to survive 35 and 36 I did the same thing only survivng because of the lawn mowers. I’m still trying to figure out how to get past the 30s onsistently. I have an idea I’m going to try next time (doomshroom),…but they have to be used REAL wisely in accordance wit hthe freezeshrooms. I’m hoping that two doomshrooms is enough to kill a ‘pack’ of red-eyed goliath zombies.
So I got on my home computer (I have it on two computers @ different points)…and I had a endless survival going at 35 days. I’m like ‘cool’…so I go in and survive for another 8 or so days before I stop and leave. I look at the thing and the flag stil lsays…35 days.
Which makes me think I might actually be in the 50s now and just not know it. The comptuer got sick of its goliath zombies getting meloned and spiked and shroomed to death…so it sent ladders…lots and lots of ladders with foot ball guys…like the whole NFL…I still won lol but that was a HORRIBLE week…
LOL I just started playing Plants Vs. Zombies because they ported it in the iPod Touch. I know I’m reaaaaaaallllllly late but fuck it. This game is crack indeed.
