I’m wondering is there a way to import the old visual effects into a newer mame? If there is then I’d love to know how. Thanks
If jojoba is any indication, its drops down a sight slower than that. If the slowdown is noticable, its well below 50 fps, closer to 30-40 in some spots.
Very damn playable though. I’m glad its out.
ok 3s is really laggy…its like xbox live offline
(not like Id EVER play that game anyway…cvs2 is my shit)
Trouble is, not many people play 3S on Xbox at any given time.
LMFAO!
I dont see the point of this on XBOX, even though I doubt this would work on PS2 or PSP. PS2 and PSP is where the fuck its at.
CPS3 on PSP is probably impossible, but it’s more of a noteworthy accomplishment. SF3 and Jojo on the go>>>>Life basically. Even if PSPs D-pad is shitty and I cant kara throw.
Well, consider CPX3 a proof of concept much like N64 emulation on PSP.
i’d love to see full speed on this thing
i wonder if he’s considered caching the roms like NJ did for CPS2PSP, or if that would even work on this system? i’m a coding idiot, so i don’t really know what i’m talking about.
and as for the point of this? real 3s on xbox, not some port that doesn’t even get the game speed right. of course this will only be a real “point” if and when the emu gets full speed. :B and hopefully deinterlaced mode like the DC version.
am just happy that this is even availble for xbox in the first place, here is to hoping that it will get more updates in the future:wink:
Its a noteworthy accomplishment even on the Xbox. I’m sure ElSemi will optimise the emulator even further so it runs more smoother.
Just gave it a try, and it’s alright. Not liking having either the black bars at top/bottom (if you’re going for a fullscreen mode), or the left/right sides cut off.
There’s also a fair amount of inherent slowdown in 2I… though to be fair, I was playing in widescreen, which is more novelty than anything. It completely breaks the gameplay, since it lets characters get even farther away from each other (watch Sean whiff a fierce Sean Tackle from fullscreen 'cause it doesn’t go far enough. You can, though, see the passed-out dude in the bonus stage, confirming that’s Hugo’s old 2nd Round NG stage). Haven’t tested 3S yet, but it’ll likely slow fairly often as well.
I noticed in NG, when playing as Ken, the game regularly slowed down for the first fireball of the match, since it’s obviously clearing that art from memory between stages and needs to reload/uncompress it.
It’s a great first effort, but there’s still more that needs to be done before I can consider clearing 3S off my XBox’s HDD.
True. I’d rather have an Xport style screen resizing option which allows you to adjust the horizontal and vertical aspects of the picture independently but ElSemi made the resizing feature the way it is now to keep the aspect ratio of the image intact.
Well, ElSemi did explain the slowdown in SF3SI in the readme:
SF3NG and SF3TS doesn’t slowdown as much. Warzard is the worst due to overusing the zoom effect which is very CPU intensive.
i want to seee cps3
CPX3 (or a similar project) is going there (PS3) soon; I can almost guarantee it…
?? Is it possible to run homebrew on the ps3 natively? The only way I know is by booting into linux, and the latest version of xmame should include the cps3 games.
New version of CPX3 released with fixed bugs:
Download is at the usual places.
runs any better ??
SNAAAAAAKE:
Mystikos on 1emulation says it runs a lot faster on PAL mode, but the NTSC mode is way too fast.
edit:
just tried it. holy crap… it’s awesome. i’ve only played it for around 30 minutes. the only slowdown i saw was the super activation and EX stuff (slowed down a little when Chun did an EX fireball while Ken did an EX shoryu). pretty much nothing that affects gameplay. this will probably get better!
…i don’t know how to set PAL / NTSC modes though. :lllll
If only they’d get MvC2
MvC2 is from NAOMI, not CPS3. Although I heard September would be a good month for emulation…probably NAOMI will be finally cracked during that month. Who knows…
