I have a question for anyone knowledgable in MAME…I’ve been playing SFIII3 for a few days now under MAME on my mac, and recently installed ElSemis emulator on my girlfriends PC. I immediately noticed a large difference in the visual quality between the two versions with the PC being quite superior. The MAME version on mac looks to be in either lower resolution, lower color depth or lower anti-aliasing.
Does anyone know what could be causing the difference? Opengl vs. direct3d? I’ve tried several of the runtime options on my mac but haven’t been able to get the quality the same.
If I’m on mistaken. Elsemi’s emu is much better in terms of quality than the Mame Emu. Although ElSemi’s does not come with online play…its a sacrifice some people will take. In other words, Elsemi’s emu is made much better than the Mame ones.
Enabling an Image Enhancement (some of these take up a lot of processing however)
Set Scale Screen to 1.
Set you resolution if you’re playing in full screen, but also turn on Enforce Aspect Ratio.
EDIT:This is what SFIII3 looks like on my screen. I use Aperture 2x4bg and Bilinear Filtering (Bilinear Filtering is probably the most important option). Some people don’t like Aperture, I’ve had my firend tell me it looks like an old TV. Be sure to click to zoom in on the image in Firefox/IE it has weird red lines if it’s not zoomed to it’s actual size.
Hey does anybody happen to know if there’s an infinite special bar cheat? I’m trying to practice Kara RD but it’s sort of hard when I have to rebuild my each time.
So has anyone made a list of recommended specs, and/or required specs? I can run it fine on this comp, but one of my friends wants it and i dont know if his comp would be able to handle it.
Probably not… If I were you I’d look for some sort of Windows application emulator for Mac (I know Linux has WINE, but not sure if Mac has something similar).
ElSemi 1.0 works as well for me as the other three did, basically at full speed, but MAME, which improved in speed only a little for me after .117, is still far too slow to use. I’m beginning to think it’s my crappy mobo that won’t let me dual-channel my RAM. Still, all things considered, I don’t think it should run at only 55%…
