Funny, are you guys sure settings don’t save? I got 2i to save all my settings (widescreen, USA region, Akuma unlocked) with Mame32++ .116u3.
Widescreen!?!?! Where’s that setting at! I checked the DIPS as well as the game setup, but I couldn’t find it anywhere.
Hit F2, then go to Configuration , Game, Screen mode, “Widescreen”…
What’s the point of a game in widescreen?
If you set the aspect ratio to widescreen (most widescreen monitors are 16:10) in MAME’s settings it looks better for widescreen monitor owners like myself. Well, at least when it’s in fullscreen.
Copy the kailleraclient.dll from the old mame folder into your new mame folder.

Hey guys what ping are you running when you play third strike on Kaillera?
Lowest I can get is 60ish and I’m using the latest jap mame and I’m lagging.
This is my first time playing on kaillera but I can tell you that I play fine not online.
Is there a way for me to boost connection or is 60 ping good and theres something wrong with my mame config

Well, finally managed to get Gill selectable in New Generation, with image and all…
His movelist is the same as always (yay!). I’m thinking they just kept it the same all through the series, and we only ‘knew’ about it when 3S rolled around.
However, in a Gill vs. Gill match, throw reactions are… a bit suspect (boo!).
But using the palettes and a sprite from the collection, I managed to recreate Gill’s full complement of colorschemes. See below (arranged by button layout).

Also, after a Gill vs. Gill match, the defeated Gill shows no ‘beat-up’ image. Since he was always last in NG, this is to be expected (all they did was put the image from 2I into NG for Double Impact).

Another problem, at least with my OLD method of getting Gill, was the screen would go BLACK after defeating all 7 opponents in 1P mode (after it restarted, though, you’d even see Gill in the top 5 screen).
Now, in 2nd Impact, Gill causes issues with the opponent order. If you get up to Gill and defeat him, you fight him again. When you win, you jump right back to Gill. Repeat ad infinitum.

60 ping = 60 ms. so there’s that much delay. if your connection is like, i don’t think there’s much you can do about it except get a better connection. lol
^Incorrect, your delay will change based on your computer, your opponent’s ping, any server lag, etcetc.

I have the sfiii3 file and the sfiii3.chd file, zipped and in the roms folder for the june 29th japanese mame. Is there anything else I need? Mame says “The video emulation isn’t 100% accurate.”

It says that cause they don’t have CPS3 perfect yet. But really in u3 there isn’t that much wrong with it. Completely playable.
lagging for me too.
jojo is a bit faster than third strike but is still unplayable online.
So how do I play it? I double click the name and it “loads”, but just returns to the game select screen. It’s listed as unavailable, btw.
