CPS3 Broken!!!

If you guys could help to push for the soon inclusion of kaillera in the forum of ElSemi’s emulator posting “I want kaillera in the emulator” you’d really help.

I would going to but it seems the forums are down or something…I’ll try again later.

EDIT: Okay, I posted and said that I hoped kaillera made it into the final version.

Warzard/Red Earth is totally playable now on the current build of Elsemi’s CPSIII emulator, no more crashing after beating Hauzer…Awesome stuff!!

Here’s something odd. While everything in Elsemi’s newer build is better graphically, the sprites in 3S are lower on the screen. If you look at the shadows, they protrude into the super bars whereas they didn’t before. They’re just supposed to graze the top of the meters.

Very true … sometimes my imagination seems a lot more satisfying than reality. :xeye:

lets the guy work on the emulator then ask for features, such as netplay. No point making him waste time in adding netplay feature on “80%” emulated rom.

It showed up fine on mine.

Oh yeah I only said I hope he puts it in the final version. I didn’t demand it now or anything.

Oh and is just me or Warzard a tough game? lol. I get grabbed and there goes like half of my health.

You’re tellin’ me…Some of the moves the enemy have are so unfair and extremely damaging, I did manage to complete it eventully though. I really do need to get some form of a controller hooked up to this shit otherwise the symptoms of RSI are really gonna kick in LoL!!

Fighting games using a keyboard do not mix

If someone is going to ask for it from now on do it on this thread: http://www.speksnk.org/foro/viewtopic.php?t=66402&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 , the old one will be closed.

Well, here are the screenshots. I wonder how I got this?:

I love it, works perfectly…3rd Strike that is, haven’t tried any others…

ROFLMAO @ Giant Attack voices…AHAHAH @ Yun

Zaatahcahndahmahn!

roflmaoooo

Does anyone know if 3s is at the right speed on either MAME or Nebula? I can’t tell unfortunately.

Both Elsemi emulators run 3S at what appears to be the proper speed. The MAME++ emus (0.116u2a and u2b) each run at the correct speed also, but there are sometimes lengthy periods of slowdown. But at this time I think it’s my computer doing that. For me, none of them have run 3S faster than normal at any point. I’m basing this off the fact that I play the arcade version ~weekly, I dunno if there’s a technical way of determining this.

Would formatting my computer make these emulators run better? It’s a 3.0 GHz P4, 512 MB RAM, Geforce FX 5200 (don’t laugh, it came with it). The fact that the MAMEs have some slowdown bothers me because I like using the SuperScale 75% scanlines filter.

While we’re posting screen shots:

ImageShack - Hosting :: cps3yv5.jpg click on it to get rid of the weird red lines, that’s it on my screens actual resolution. I could easily use that as a wallpaper it’s so pretty.

But yeah, Mame32+ 0.116u2 FTW.

This is a big step I have to admit. I finally got to play Warzard/Red Earth. If this can be done then maybe Tekken, Soul Blade, Sonic the Fighters or Final Fight Revenge can be emulated too. A big shout out to those guys. Once that netplay gets proper, the whole scene is gonna shift. And it was worth the wait. This is some nastiness. Once its fully emulated. Its gonna be on, most definately.

Huh, actually when I played it this time, I had the background for a moment and it went away when the match started. So I dunno.

Okay, since this isn’t about getting a rom to play in the emulator or getting the roms, or getting the emulator to work (just tweaking the already working emulator), I’m pretty sure I’m allowed to answer this. Since really this can be a generic emulator question. If I am wrong, I’ll delete/edit this post to comply with the rules.

Various things you can do to lessen the chance of slowdowns in emulators:

1.) Kill all processes you don’t need while playing. (ctrl alt del, then get rid of stuff you know you don’t need currently, what those things are, well it’s hard to tell, mess around with a bit and if everything keeps running, your still good, lol.)
2.) Run the emulator windowed.
3.) Try messing around with the various graphics options, sometimes you can be asking your card to do something it doesn’t like. (So it may run faster without the scanlines, who knows.)

Also, which emulator are you trying? For lower end systems ElSemi’s emulator iis probably better, since MAME comes with a lot of bloat for supporting everything it does. (Also it doesn’t take advantage of computer hardware as much, as they are trying to stay true to the limitations of the things being emulated.)

Runs faster for me in fullscreen

All of those sans FFR, has already been emulated to my knowlegde. Sonic the Fighter is awesome, too. Metal Sonic all day, baby.

Yep, it’s more demanding to run it windowed, compared to full screen.
