no it doesn’t
yes the 9898989898 spam is annoying, but that is not what’s lagging the server down. It’s the number of people on.

I just started using GGPO a few days ago. I like it a little better than Kaillera because people can actually put up with my suckiness
That’s just being considerate if you ask me. Now after every round is a different story.
That’s not considerate, that stuff is annoying, I’m online to play, not say GG after every single match, especially if it wasn’t even a GG
So what do you suggest someone say if they get owned or vice versa?
If you’re getting owned, don’t say shit, try harder; if anything compliment their ass kicking prowess.
If you’re winning, your game play is already saying enough; anything more is cocky.
Now, when you leave, it IS considerate to say GGs, but GG after every match? No way.
90% Of the matches I play online, not a word is uttered unless we’re A)Talking shit to each other or B)We say GGs at the end.
The other 10% is either talking to a friend that I’m playing, or giving people pointers that they asked for.
I’m not sure what I think about this. I just started playing online (GGPO) a couple days ago. I want to be seen as a respectful opponent, I’m not gonna be a challenge to experienced players, but I want to play and have fun. I see too much shit-talking and hate-speak on the channels already, and I don’t even bother challenging those people.
I’ve been saying GG after the first couple matches, then make friendly comments as time goes by; something along the lines of “you’ve got a tough Chiun” or “nice!” or “great finish!” When I lose (I lose mostly anyway)
I can’t help how people read/interpret those comments - even on this thread some people hate “ggs” while some people don’t mind at all. I’ll keep trying to be nice, though I will limit the “ggs” a bit since it could be misconstrued.
I, too, just want to be seen as a respectful player. What DRCsyntax posted is what I’ve done, and still doing. Simply, just don’t be annoying, and atleast say GG at the end.
Yeah, I try to be respectful when I play. I don’t know why anyone would find it annoying to get a compliment every once in a while. The person is being nice, and it’s a lot better than them freaking out and calling you a n00b!!?!1111 or and cheater.
It’s all about perspective I don’t see GG as taunting or anything.

DRCsyntax is the most respectful player I’ve played online hands down. I got mad respect for that cat. :clapdos:
People say GG after every match? I only say GGs when I’m about to stop playing.
If a round or match is really close or someone pull’s off a hard combo I tend to compliment on their skill (like a good match, nice parry, good round). I don’t say GGs unless I’m about to leave and I wanted to summarize the whole playing experience with my opponent.
