I agree, never change the latency settings without asking the other player first.

Another thing. Please don’t write a novel for the name of the game you create. It’s annoying as hell to scroll over 5 times, and STILL not see the whole name.

When making a game in kaillera, DO NOT SPAM THE NAME in the main chat more than once. Make the game, put it in the room if you want, but none of this

-People who join your game and fucking ask where you got the rom from, GOOGLE THAT SHIT DOWN SCRUB! :lame:

Oh if that isn’t the pot calling the kettle black…

fuck yourself

Lol. Very intelligent wording there, Ax0r. Good job at proving what I quoted to be true after all.

In addition to what’s already mentioned about “GG”…
GG means good games; noobs better stop spamming GG after every god damn round they get owned, cuz those ain’t good games, and it gets on my nerves having to put up with idiots who can’t make out a left from right.

Also, as I’ve noticed, a LARGE majority of people on kaillera simply use 2 ~ 3 top tier chars (or 2~3 of easiest to learn characters, like Yoshitora from Samsho, or Akuma/Chun of A3) of each game and abuse an easy tactic that can be mastered by just about anyone who played for a few days. What’s the fun in beating those people when its not so different from beating up a CPU?

There’d be a lot of argument as to how people have fun in games, but really…if you get down to it, beating on a same char that move the same way over and over, gets old. That’s what scrubs basically are, and it makes no difference whether they’re good at scrubbing or sucks at scrubbing, it makes the gaming boring as hell to every non-scrubs out there.

I hate those people where you have a really, really close fight with them, they win, then they call you a “Scrub” 'cause you didn’t win, and then they drop!

Yeah, I’m getting tired of people that choose and only use 3 characters (like in KoF2k2, where there’s over 40 to choose from) for 10+ games. Very repetitive.

That said, I don’t think Akuma is one of those easy characters in A3, but I do use Guy and Chun-Li alot. Guy is probably the best, but he’s not easy to use.

What does that have to do with Online Courtesy?

Chun-li is too overrated in A3 and she really isnt that easy to use. Her attack power is low, fb with monster recovery time, weak power, and low range, low reach, and her ability to do combos is also poor. Easy to use why? Air priority and speed? Pfff. Her air priority isnt all its cracked up to be. I dont even see why she is considered a middle tier when she should be a bottom tier. If youre letting some chun user beat you with just air attacks and trips then… Im not saying this just because Im a chun user either. This so called easy tactics arent going to cut it when you play someone like ryu1999. I dont even play that way with her. X-ism chunli is only good for her extra power. That 0 range palm strike and spinning kick. Remember X-ism cant block in air so those air attacks and constant jump ins are suicide against a shoto, gief, or someone on vism. The only games chunli would be considered middle or top tier is sfa2 and ssf2t and even in those games especially ssf2t those easy tactics dont cut it against a pro.

In Kof2k2, I do only use 3 characters, but only because I am still learning them and I dont play the game often. Only one of the characters I use could be considered top-tier and the other 2 you actually have to know what youre doing.

Chun’s no fun in a3, barely anything you do with her. Compare her against Gief, Sim, Akuma, etc. They have so many different attributes at their finger tips. Chun-Li is only good if a pro plays her, scrubs can’t even be cheap with her.

I disagree…I really don’t see how her attack power is low (so perhaps her lightning legs is weak, and her projectile like everyone elses, is crap, but her supers and her normal moves do the same as any other character for the most part). As for the ability to do combos, that depends on the user (of course, she’s no Guy, who has the biggest combos, but she has decent ones). Her crossups are also incredibly annoying. Her air priority is great if she jumps in with LK.

But anyhow, that’s sort of going off-topic. I think the majority of kaillera nuisances have been covered though.

Edit: What’s with so many people these days selecting the boss characters after they lose to a low tier character? I’m getting numerous people choosing Rugal in KoF2k2, or Red Arremer/Athena in SvC, because they lost to Kyo…

She doesn’t have too many practical combos, her cross-ups are just like any other character, her supers aren’t very good. Air priorty is good though, she has plenty of moves to jump in with.

This ain’t A3 thread, so I won’t go into details…but

What makes chun easy to use;

Quick walk speed (easy ground pressure game and retal)
Quick jump speed (easy anti-air w/ j.LK, j.MP)
Triple jump (easy run-away)
Ability to crossup easily from anti-air or sweep at ANY range as long as opponent takes no recovery (Even then it can be followed up)
Easy anti-air (sweep, lever back fierce, crouching fierce)
Easy v-ism unblockable setup
Easy infinite from unblockable setup

Lack of long/powerful combo? Stop using X-ism

Either way, my point was not that chun was easy to use or what not…it was simply stated as an EXAMPLE. My main point was that a large majority of people use very limited variety of characters that are easy to use or are very powerful (and, maybe little of both). This creates a lack of diversity in gameplay especially when they all play as if they’ve read some sorta “gaming for dummies”. Sure, those tactics won’t work against true veterans, but not all of us are true veterans…and infact, we need to practice to become a true veteran. Playing against bunch of two-shoot scrubs ain’t gonna help anyone get better (aside from maybe become comfortable with shooting down a same old tactic).

I think the problem here is that more and more people are misunderstanding the whole point of PvP gaming; PvP games, like all games, are supposed to be fun. However, the difference being a PvP game is a two-man (or 3, 4, or even 6) process where it require atleast two people to enjoy. If people start going selfish saying they just wanna have fun, it may ruin the experiance of other people that play the game. Of course, the standard of fun is different among everyone, but atleast try to play the game for the sake of gaming experiance and not some idiotic ‘I wanna win no matter what’, ‘I wanna go fuck some dudes up and watch em bitch how cheap I was’ mindset.

And remember people, Sucking at games=/=Other Person is a Cheater,

im gonna have to co-sign on the people using 3-4 characters … its not necessarily couracy its just the other player gets bored as hell fighting the same battles over and over and over and over and over …

hahaha yea when u beast someone they automaticly call u a cheater/hacker.

Character selection is extremely game, and skill level, dependant.

Rather simply, at higher skills, players can use the same characters over and over and over again, and have intense amounts of fun, simply because there’s so much depth going on in the specific matchup.

I can play XvsSF Shoto vs Shoto matches all day, as long as the other person knows what he’s doing. If he doesn’t, and he picks shotos constantly, it’s gonna be boring, because it’ll be the same shiz every time. If he ‘does’, there’ll be a whole lot of variety.

Skill > Manner…
