Couple of SF characters

Here’s a couple of pics of Street Fighter characters I’ve drawn…the chun li was done from reference while Ken and Alex were out of my head…I threw a ninja turtle in too. What do you guys think?

If you read my post, you’ll notice that I said the Chun Li pic was drawn from reference, meaning yes I was looking at another pic when I drew it. I promise you, however that Alex was a sketch just out of my head and any similarity to another pic is purely coincidental. But since you doubt my drawing ability I guess you need more convincing of my prowess…

lol. i can tell that alex isn’t from reference, and some of your stuff kinda reminds me of the ol’ mk stuff from way back when. but overall it’s all your own style (except for chun of course). i like.

thanx Bland_wulf I appreciate the sentiment. Now if I can learn to draw backgrounds as well as my characters maybe I’ll be good enough to put it to good use commercially.

I ink by hand and color using either markers or photoshop. Here’s a pic of that Angel inked by hand and colored in photoshop. It could’ve been better but I may redraw it and try to improve the whole thing rather than mess with it anymore as is. I messed up on his foot and couldn’t find large pictures of wings; guess I should’ve kept the hand drawn ones.

Pretty good stuff. Might want to make your light source a little more clear on some of the shadows. It’s very absract when you look at it as a whole. Maybe massing the shapes will do the trick. Overall solid work.

Oh and I see you are from Htown. You game at stargate with the other peeps down there? I used to live there. Repping Veterans memorial.

You’re the second person to mention the light source and shadows, I’ll have to keep that in mind when drawing. I would love to learn how to do cel shading in Photoshop without using the pen tool if possible(I’m thinking I’d have to make masks or something), if anyone knows of such a tutorial on the net, I’m all ears.

As for Stargate, I haven’t been there in a long while, maybe one time since they changed and brought in the consoles, but it was a fun place to practice SF3.
