How does C-Sagat counters Vega? Isn’t backwards?

Also, remember Geese EXCELENT cross up MK, and adding to Yama average air defense you can cross up him pretty easily. If he anticipates it, and counters w/ Lvl2 antiair/j.HP/early s.MP, JD that shit or do an early air Fireball.

What’s the strategy against Chun and Cammy with Rock? I’ll pretty much never play Buktooth and every Hibiki I’ve played is basura.

Low pokes canceled into Hard Edge? or block strings with an Evac toss?

Nah it takes way too long for Vega to deal damage to Sagat.

-yama has weak low jump defense
-yama has weak wakeup options outside of his grab super, which isn’t even that good

if you’re using a roll groove Yama, his roll under low jump attacks almost always puts him behind the guy, ready to throw, or whatever mixup he has. I think along with Sagat and a few others, it’s the perfect length/recovery for a roll.

And about grab super not being that good? Well, it beats stuff like RC Electricity, etc and pretty much everything else on wakeup. That’s good enuf for me.

i dont really use rock but from what i’ve seen, rock can zone cammy really well with ground fireballs along with c.mk into more fireballs/elbow dash.

vs chun, she has problems with rocks j.hk and his standing hk as anti air

i agree fireball zoning is good, but it’s one of those strategies that fail on paper, but are good irl if u can read ur opponent well. The bad thing about any fireball zoning strategy, is that if u guess wrong once, u risk losing big damage to a jumpin combo + followups. But yeah, fireball zoning vs cammy is good with Rocky cause she has a slow, floaty jump, the worst roll ever, and Cannon Drill can’t go under it. I don’t think this works vs any SNK Cammy, cause low jump rh > that type of zoning.

Btw, just to add, running c. forward is good vs Cammy cause she is a hardcore zoning character, which means she spends her time walking back and forth, and not much time crouch blocking.

Yeah. I know Cammy’s a beast at footsies, I understand that catching her moving forward is key to getting in the precious hits on her.

I would rather use far low RH vs. Cammy’s st. RH rather than fireballs vs a small jump Cammy.

Using fireballs OCCASIONALLY is good to catch her off guard, but I wouldn’t say that that’s the main thing. Throw one from full screen, walk up and wait and see what happens. Then when you knock her down, go crazy. Make the player guess whether to Cannon Spike or not. Do alot of damage to her quickly so she has to play catch up. Giving you more opportunities to do damage by making her come to you rather than pacing which is what Cammy is good for overall.

I don’t agree with low rh vs s. rh. That’s a losing battle, Cammy has waaaay better walk speed, so she can dominate u by dictating pace of the battle if u wanna do that. It’s not like Rock can play footsies with her using ANY of his normals, so let’s be real here and forget it. Fireballs are there to make her do something that she DOESN’T wanna do, which is have to jumpin. That’s why fireballs are good, they make her do shit she isn’t very good at. Either way, I think this is a crappy matchup, so do whatever works vs ur local comp, just keep in mind when ur playing the best, ur gonna have a hard time with his trip or his fireball. Btw, i was thinking about low jumping with rh on her, but that gets beat too. I remember low jumping vs my friend who uses C-Cammy sometimes, and i get hit by s. rh on the way up, because the range where you wanna lowjump, Cammy wants to do rh to poke, and she’ll hit you either way. Cammy’s rh is a bitch. The best way i can see this matchup going is using K and just JD’ing her rh, which IIRC is punishable on JD by Rock’s trip. THEN you can maybe get in on her and do some more serious damage.
