Could another video game crash happen?

Could a 2nd video game industry crash happen? One reason the Crash of '83 happened was because consumers were tired of getting screwed over, as they were with Pac-Man and E.T. on the Atari 2600. Today, gamers deal with DLC, DRM, microtransactions, and having to pay full price for a half-finished, glitch-filled, broken game. Eventually, they’re going to get tired of this, and protest with their wallets. Could this cause another industry crash, and if so, who could revive it like Nintendo did with the NES?
