Capcom should add some kind of notification when you level up. Right now absolutely nothing tells you that you did level up unless you pay attention to the various digits on the screen.
They should simply do more with the presentation of data (Fight Money, League Points, EXP, etc). Right now its just numbers that aren’t treated as significant when you gain them…
One thing that Call of Duty does right is that they tell you when you’re making progress, and they make a big deal about it. People like bells & whistles.
Because Artgerm’s art looks quite lifeless, as if everyone is a bored model. It’s basically the same problem that Shinkiro’s art sometimes has, except he can still add a bit of life into his art at times.
You’re not gonna see realistically proportioned extremities here. Oversized ones are just part of the style that Capcom’s been using since the 1990’s. Just look at some of Bengus and Akiman’s old artwork.
Win/Loss-specific character portraits at the results screen. As of now, they’re identical, with the loser’s desaturated to greyscale while the winner’s remains colored.
Capcom can do more to improve the presentation without loosening their firm grip on the Flat Design direction that’s all the rage. I’m not saying to bust them up like in SFII but a more dejected (read: salty) countenance would add nice touch of insult to injury for the loser while also sweetening the victory of the winner. Engaging people’s emotions —in positive and not-so-positive ways— livens things up. It’s the little things, y’know?
The “Just-Frame” version of Karin’s Tenko should have an outstanding sensory cue (visual and aural) to denote and differentiate it from its basic version.
I’ve always liked the idea of giving moves that have clandestine or esoteric properties a gameplay and/or design property to match. Such as EWGFs in Tekken triggering specific vocals and being more combo-friendly because of how much faster they started up and recovered. Faultless Defense, Just-Guard, and Blue-Spark moves also come to mind.
**Whiten Ken’s teeth a bit. **
I understand that the whites in your eyes (sclera) and healthy teeth aren’t actually white but it looks as if he’s brushing his with his hair dye. We know he’s too health-conscious to be a smoker so if it came from coffee guzzling it would suggest poor dental hygiene, unbefitting of a Master (heh) of Multitasking such as Ken.
What is the difference between this and the normal version? Does it just do more damage and make the opponent spin in the air? Is there any more to it than that?
As far as frames go, I don’t know yet. But during the insufficient amount of hands-on training time I had with her, I realized you could combo into JFL(auncher) from lights. You could also then combo from JFL into another JFL for a juggle. Neither of which can be done with the basic version, AFAIK.
The damage, I believe, was the same either way, though. Which is fine. Especially since you can get EX Rainbow Palm from the double JFL juggle in the corner.
Further differences I’m unaware of. No post-beta PC training mode grinding for me at the moment. Unfortunately.
Because they will surely take the peoples who are working on gameplay/testing to create it right? Lol
Is not like gaming development is divided in sub-team with separated jobs, they will take Joe while he’s adjusting some Cammy’s crMK hurtbox and send him in another room to texture and animate a dancing monkey in Brazil stage
To not count that Capcom can have an actual $$$ gain from color edit, wich can translate into have more $ to invest into SFV’s future
I love being able to choose between English and Japanese but I would also like a third option for characters that don’t speak either of those as a first language. I would like all the non English/Japanese speaking characters to have their own language too. So Gief - Russian, Laura - Portuguese, Chun - Chinese etc.
I don’t think it would take too much to do and it would add a layer to the game for me (even if it was just in versus mode and not in story).
Also like loads of others have said, bring back rival/story intros!
