I could have sworn they were going to let people know about tournaments that are going on and stuff.
Capcom got too far ahead of themselves I guess.

Yeah they have the sound files for tournaments but I don’t think they’ve been used yet. With all their ambitions of esports you’d think they would not only have what you described, but also a code protected tournament mode with everything unlocked, maybe even a built in bracket system.
Now the screen shake is really starting to annoy me. That plus rollback makes the game look like glitchy garbage. Maybe save that effect for a wall bounce mechanic or something.
And dude, they reaaaaally reduced the screenshake. If you check early footage, like… Ken reveal-time footage, every single hit made the camera have a seizure.
Yes, that just shows how rushed this game is.
somebody send this to caplol
wow!!
I will definitely agree about the rollback implementation making this game look…bizarre. Was playing a great guy from Brazil last night (Reikirei) and we had a 4-5 bar connection. A huge amount of our games were still BIZARRE when you watched them. The rollback was kicking in for like 3 frames or so. For instance, I would throw out a crouch MP and I would get the hit sound effect and about 2-3 frames of hit-spark & animation…then BAM nope, blocked. And not once or twice…basically every time. At one point on his end, as Necalli it rolled back my RH literally like 6 times and it made it look to him like Necalli was machine-gunning kicks like Chun-Li or something. Jumps rolled back to look like people were standing…then they would appear elsewhere. Just weirdness all over…and this was on a 4-5 bar connection!
This is just not the implementation of rollback I’m used to. Rolling back nearly imperceptible amounts of time (literally only a handful of frames most of the time) makes the game look jumpy, glitchy and just downright strange and broken. And if the argument is “Well get better internetz!” my counter argument is “Then don’t have your goddamn game tell us our connection is 4-5 bars”
I may have understood why we end up with wierdo face Ken
First currently is’nt even that bad, after the fix (right version)

Btw imho it’s because they’re searching resemblance with the web series actor
instead go for a slighty more anime look, wich give a weird stylistical dissonance with all other (example Ryu) characters
Kinda the same for Claw, they chased the Di Caprio look (instead Vega’s classic long face), but too direct traslation on SFV slighty anime graphical style give a kinda awkward result

They did the same with SFV Birdie and Bob Sapp, but there it work
Could they have not used literally any other font than comic sans for “Bonita”?
-I realize it’s probably not exactly like comic sans but damn it-
It’s a trashy t-shirt from some bootlegger. It looks trashy. It works.
alas, unless i’m editing the ini files wrong, i believe this doesn’t work
Here’s a tutorial on how to modify ini files https://www.reddit.com/r/StreetFighter/comments/462a8r/engineini_quality_tweaks/

Just fought a Chun who V triggered during rollback, it looked so fucking bad.

r.OpacityStencil=0oh my god…
I thought this was done on purpose to give the impression of 2D sprites overlapping each other.
Strange thing is that many weeks ago (before launch or around that period) there was a video with a build where they solved hairs clipping, but it was’nt implemented in the last recent patch

Honestly I think they’re just targeting PS4 performance wise. They could fix that shit for the PC version in no time, it would just use more resources.
Glad to see clipping was solved to some degree. It’s a little bad to bring friends over to convince them to player fighters and then they see Claw’s necklace and hair going absolutely ape-shit during select screen and his winpose.
The graphics in SF5 are a little inconsistent, I think? Ryu’s textures look a little too ‘noisy’, while people like Rashid and Ken have their skin look very reminiscent of SF4 (a little too cartoony). Characters like Ryu, Chun Li, Bison all have a more serious, realistic and sharper style, while Ken, Rashid and Claw look like they’re updated versions of SF4. The styles are a little varied (not a bad thing per se), but just inconsistent.

Yeah, that annoys me to no end.
