hey guys! damn ive been outta the scene so long i miss it. im just wondering though if you guys could help me out. I’ve been thinking about getting a stick for my 360 since marvel is coming out soon, if anyone could give me suggestions on what the best stick would be i’d greatly appreciate it.

Whats up Don? I would say for Marvel go with a Comp IL with a hard spring. P360 are still good but not as good as the older Wico Models. Lizardlick.com is a good place to order parts. Trading outlet is where I got mine.:cybot:

im gonna be toying around with some sticks to see which i enjoy best for the game, but in general you’ll prolly find a competition stick stock equipment to work pretty good for you. you can try out mine, i’ll also have a couple sanwa setups as well to try out. sanwa with bat top / ball top / square gate / octo gate / and the competition in the big box stick.

also as phelps said lizardlick.com has alot of great deals on arcade parts. i’d buy from there.

also there is not definitive best stick, just what works for you. try out my sticks or others sticks and see which works best for you and if they set it up different from stock springs etc…

once im done modifying some of my sticks i can prolly make u one but i’m not gonna rush to be done with mine super fast so it may be a lil while if u were looking into getting a completely new setup.

Lol wtf phelps blowin dat green!

Don- wat ur number yo…

And ggs yesterday

hmm, i was wondering what are good retail arcade sticks for the xbox 360? i have a MAS for ps2 but its 4 years old and has been thoroughly abused within those years so things are kinda wearing out. but i wanted a new stick for the xbox 360 cause of marvel coming out online, just wondering if the sf4 TE stick has had any problems. i’ve found a MAS stick for the 360 but its significantly more expensive than the TE. i am a fan of the MAS straight button setup and competition stick. i do appreciate the feedback though, thanks phelps and jerry. 361-228-5324 i still dont have a reliable way to visit cc :frowning: maybe ill ask my mom for a ride lmao

P.S. i think a friend and i are heading out to corpus in a bit, i think i’ll prolly hit up tilt between 5:30 and 6:30. not sure on the time but sometime between there, if anyone is interested in playing some marvel.

if your use to and like the competition stick and competition happ buttons setup and your comfortable with it you can make a stick fairly easily for xbox only for the cost of parts and provided you have solder tools fairly cheaply.

xbox controller for the circuit board 20-25 bux
wiring -3-5 bux ( if even that )
solder (depends on how much you get 5-10
competition stick 8 bux (or if you want to keep your stick and replace certain parts is less)
happ competition buttons convex for a lil under 2 bux
then some materials to make a box (or use your own box from the mas)

total cost is about 70 bux without rebuilding a case.

TE stick is a very good stick also and is for sale at buy.com for 125 bux and that includes tax and shipping if you use free shipping that they have offered. The thing with the TE is it’s ok to swap out sanwa and seimitsu parts but its not very forgiving for happ parts which is what your use to. So if you wanted to get a TE it would take box modification to make the happ parts fit. So if your going with happ build your own box or use your mas stick box.

most pre fab sticks for 360 from retail sellers are in sanwa parts and usually setup in a viewlix type fashion. the ones with happ controls are more like arcadeinabox and mas sticks which as you say cost significantly more than a TE stick.

awesome jerry! thats exactly what i needed to hear. i’m just not sure how to do the wiring and i dont have the soldering tools, any idea on where to get them?

on a side note i think i’ll be hitting up corpus today as i mentioned earlier, anyone down for some games? hit up the cell 361-228-5324

soldering tools all that you would need you can get at radio shack.

get a lil steel wool for cleaning, can get that at a grocery store
soldering iron / desolderer u can get a kit from radioshack for about 10 bux
you can also get rosin core solder from there as well.
also what would help a lil are some alligator clips to hold wires to the board while you solder.

that link should have anything you really ever wanted to know about making a joystick. it also includes some wire schematics. here is a link to some of the board schematics.

you can also get a board with a common ground from madcatz’s circuit board out of their wired controllers, an example is the one you can see on this site. the site i linked above also has the diagram for the controller i linked below.
