Converting From TvC to MvC2 to MvC3 Dashing/Moving in on the Opponent Strategies

im planning on getting MvC3 next year and i know they took off air dashing im so use to it in TvC im just wondering how do you guys close in on opponents in MvC2 without a air dashing into a combo?

In Mvc2 you get close with regular dashes(forward + both punches).

Some characters moves are like a Dash like Mag’s cr.HK is a crouching/dashing sweep otherwise I just tap F+F

TvC ended up being better than i tought but MvC3 will probably be MUCHO better.
