Converter Compatibility Thread

I’ve tried this one personally with success. You can find them on amazon, but I bought mine from eBay

This is also neato. Test with sticks! It has the potential to be a good one.

Pretty Sweet! The end of the youtube video was a heartbreaker when he said 3rd party arcade sticks are a no go :frowning: He mentioned hori sticks being okay to use, but no mention of mad catz sticks. Definitely got lots of potential. Hopefully they’ll do a revision where you won’t need an xbox360 controller to bypass the security on the 360, and more support for arcade sticks.

What I’m really curious about is its compatibility with toodles’ MC Cthulhu. Hmmm

I orderd one aswell, it was only like 11 GBP with shipping. Worth a shot. I will do some lag-testing when i get it. Stay put!

Could this be the inpin-converter? It sure looks like it. Its a swedish store, and its acutally kinda cheap. Like 10 GBP or something like that. What do you guys think?

I was needing a PS2 to Xbox360 adapter anyways, so I went ahead and ordered the new Mayflash adapter:

I’ll be testing it with some PS3 sticks as well. I’ll keep you guys posted.

Total Control Plus is currently sold out in Play Asia (PS2-DC converter). Is there anywhere else to get this? Also, if not then would anyone confirm that Total Control 2 is a good-enough alternative?

So I picked one of these up and was wondering if people had any suggestions for a reasonably easy way to test if the converter lags and/or if it drops inputs. Having so far only used it to play with a 360 controller on a PS3 I have no reason to suspect that it does either but conclusive testing is always nice.

Yes, I confirm it. I got both. The only difference is that Total control 2 supports PC Keyboards , and Total control plus supports VMU.

Dropping inputs is relatively easy - just go into a game with input display and tap out an repeatable (and recognizable) pattern. Something like AABBCCAABBCC. Repeat until you’re satisfied nothing is getting dropped.

As for input lag, that’s a little harder without some sort of visual cue off of your stick itself. If you have an LED modded stick, or a TE kitty (wired to light up the turbo panel), you can get both the stick and the TV in the same shot on your video camera and record. Then framestep the recorded video to determine latency. You can sort of do the same thing by just using a different visual cue (like, watching your had hit the button), but that’s obviously more prone to human error.

Great news everyone!

I did some testing with the converter i mentioned earlier in this thread, a ps2 > xbox 360 converter. After some testing (with the inputlag-testing program in mentioned in first post), and as far as im concered, its lag free. I also tested to see if it would drop inputs, but it didnt seem to do that either.

I tested this with a PS1-pad.

Xpadder setup

Keyboard test:

testing a direction on the d-pad.

Testing a trigger:

tesing a button:

As you can see, i didnt get any diffrent results from the keyboard. For the input droptest, i namned them ABCDEFGH and mashed them in a word-document to see if it missed some of them, and i didnt see any problem there either.

I did more button with the same result.

I bought one of them to compare to my inpin converter which I got from laugh here on srk a year ago and it seems like a rebranding.

I can’t tell a difference when using them and popping them both open the insides of them are exactly the same.
The only difference is the label on the backside which now says “imported by clas ohlson”.

So if you’re in a nordic country or the UK and you’re looking for a ps2 to ps3 converter, you should check out your country’s clasohlson.com.

Can you connect a non-branded xbox360 controller first then connect a ps3 controller?
for example this controller?http://www.ebgames.ca/xbox-360/acce…360-controller/201302?ref=recpdp&cross=703544

Also if you ran a ps3 controller through the converter to a ps3 would it count as a wired ps3 controller for tournaments?

I ordered the mayflash, but apparently the ebay seller had mistakenly oversold them… won’t be getting it for another week. I’ll let you know when it comes in.

The Controller Converter Pro is out of stock. Is there another reliable ps2/3 to 360 converter out there?

Got the new Mayflash SS/N64/PS-to-USB-converter. Lagless Saturn-pad gameplay on PS3 like with my old “PC Magic Box USB”-converter. But now also the Start-button works (didn’t with the old converter which had Select mapped to it instead).

With the new converter the PS-buttons are mapped on the Saturn-pad like this:
X=[], Y=L2, Z=R2
A=/, B=O, C=X
L=L1, R=R1, Start=Start

Now I wonder if you could combine this with the new XBox-adapter from Mayflash:
http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Adapter-XBOX360-PS3-PS2/dp/B0089OBLDO/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1341272220&sr=8-8&keywords=mayflash adapter xbox
which some of you just ordered to use genuine Saturn pads on XBox 360 this way (and would it still be lagfree)?
Or can this new adapter only convert “real” PS3-controllers?

Anyone know of any converters that work for a Playstation 3 Eightarc Fightstick, I tried the Myflash one but it didn’t work at all. Please help, any information you guys have will be helpful.

Crazy that there is not currently a reliable, PS3 pad to 360 converter. Hopefully the Mayflash one turns out well.

I got the Mayflash, its godlike. works as a wired controller on ps3 with ps3 pad and works with ps2 pad. have yet to try it on xbox360

Also, here’s a good link for those looking to buy the Mayflash adapter: http://www.ebay.com/itm/to-for-XBOX-360-PS3-PS2-PC-USB-Universal-Controller-Adapter-Converter-Mayflash-/251079608079?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a7582c70f apparently the shipping is less than a week.

I hope jaytoo receives and posts about his adapter soon :open_mouth: It would be nice to see some testing done.
