Converter Compatibility Thread

HEY NEAT new Saturn to USB converter from Mayflash. I have two of their older ones so I’ll pass this round but they’re rare so it’s good to see a re-release. I saw some conflicting posts on PS3 compatibility.

Nice. If it were for Saturn>PS3 I would’ve been all over it

It may work fine on PS3. Many of their others do. Just need a guinea pig.

…me? Where do I buy one?

this guy tested it on his laptop

I went on amazon to buy the new Mayflash converter but it looks like someone already bought it and tried it with PS3. He said it doesn’t work on PS3 but he didn’t go into detail. Hmmm.

Yep and I have another one on eBay from a guy saying it worked fine minus the N64 analog. Maybe get it from someone who accepts returns.

Alright I just bought one from fourtriangles off of eBay.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope we see another sunrise. :smokin:

Cool. That should be an easy return if it doesn’t work - “You claimed it worked on PS3.”

Holy Santa Claus shit it works on PS3! I plugged my HSS-130 into the mayflash adapter and into the PS3. Button mapping is a bit weird. Also, I can’t find any way to activate the PS3 button, so only the 8 buttons and start button are available. No lag that I noticed while playing SSF4AE for 15 minutes. Pretty sweet for $22 shipped I must say.

Great Find Kyle!

This forum is great. I just ordered a PS2 to SNES converter from ToToTEK, I’ll post here to let everyone know how it works out.

That is sweet. More important is that you can hit Start. That was the issue with the grey version of their previous converter. Thanks for posting back!

Yeah man, always glad to help, thanks for the find. Maybe they’ll make a 3rd revision where they’ll put the PS button on the converter itself like the unpin, or maybe come up with a start+button combination to activate the ps3 button.

Don’t order anything from China during New Years. The postal service is clogged up with presents (much like Christmas in the US) and many people (including the entire staff of Deal Extreme) don’t work for the majority of the holiday.

If you ordered it from DX during not the biggest holiday of the year, you would have probably had better luck.

I just got my ToTOTEK psx to snes converter and I have to say its pretty sweet! As far as I can tell there is no input lag, and I played for a good couple of hours using both my T5 and T4 sticks.

The only real issue I’ve found is the button mapping. This converter maps R1 and L1 as gameplay buttons, which limits your options if you are working with vintage psx sticks with different layout (i.e. T5 stick). This is easy enough to fix if you are willing to mod out your stick, but if you have other converters (i.e. me) that map the buttons differently you might not want to do that to yourself. I will be modding my T5 to work with this because the only other converters that I use are for the PS3 and 360, and in both of those cases you are translating to another 8 button system, which makes it easy to map out the buttons to do whatever you want.

All in this is a solid product and if you enjoy vintage gaming on the snes this is a great deal!

Hello.I want to ask if anyone knows and have used a converter for PS3 brawlstick to XBOX 360.
I want to buy a cheap stick that works on both consoles and i see that at zavvi the brawlstick is just 21 pounds but it is only the PS3 version and i have more xbox games and emulators than PS3 :frowning: and use the xbox more often .
So could you tell me if there is such convertor and mb a link to it
PS i live in Bulgaria Europe

There are no known lag free converters for PS3>360

if you want a cheap stick that works on both i’d suggest you get a Datel Arcade Pro (amazon.co.uk) or Paewang Revolution from etokki.com. they ship international too. you can later mod it with better parts, but its a reasonable start.

I am ordering a 15 pin midi to USB adapter for older style PC joysticks and controllers.
Its apparently the Mayflash Joy Box 7. I will give it a go and review once the adapter comes in.
I want it to use a older Gravis Black hawk on a modern PC that is lacking the 15 pin Midi port that used to be on older sound cards.

i got this converter it works good my ps2 controller works on the ps3 and xbox and my arcade sticke hori ex (xbox) and hori vlx (xbox) and The new madcatz fighting stick street cross tekken (xbox)are working great on the ps3 even the home button works on it but the only weird thing is just the home buttons of the xbox sticks stay pinking

Okay got the adapter in. A Mayflash Super Joybox 7.

For the PC, it works fairly well. I tested this on a Windows 7 (64 bit) PC. I had to recalibrate before use but the Gravis Black hawk worked fine on PC games. I found out recalibration is common on older fligth stick controllers. The adapter supposed to work on both Supports both Digital and Analog modes. Also the adapter is plug and play, no drivers required for download.
I tried this out with Some shooters as well as a flight sim.
The Adapter has a switch for Pad § Steering Wheel (S) and Flight / Arcade Sticks (S). Instructions state if the pad does not reply correctly set the adapter to S.

Now on the PS3, it was a mess I don’t know if the stick or the adapter is at fault, but I was unable to hit down and hit right on the stick. I would test this out further but I don’t have any other game port devices. The Buttons and triggers lined up with the 4 face buttons on a PS3 pad.

Not compatible with Logitech Wingman Joysticks, Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback joysticks.

So I was reading that there are not any lagless ps3 to 360 converters. The top post listed this as lagless:

Is this simply an outdated post? Thanks
