Converter Compatibility Thread

I have this:

http://images.excheap.com/PS2-PS3-to-Xbox360-Controller-Converter-Pro-3079.jpg

It converts PS2 AND PS3 controllers to 360 without any sort of passthrough - and it works great! Tried it out on a 360 with my friend’s HRAP3.

An alternative solution would be to have your stick customized/modified and fitted with an MC Cthulhu, which indeed supports Xbox1.

Has anyone updated to the PS3 3.50 firmware and can still use their PS2 -> PS3 adapters, such as the inPin? I’m reading how Sony has begun to disable third party controllers with this update.

My Pelican converter works fine still.

Anyone else try this http://cgi.ebay.com/PS3-and-PS2-xBox...1#ht_500wt_928 ?
I am looking to buy a namco ps3 modded stick and want to use it on my 360

I can confirm that:

  • REAL converters no longer work (tried both of mines).
  • that bum ass Radio Shack converter still works.

I can confirm that InPin still works.

I just got them too, haha. I would have been pissed if they were disabled so soon.

This won’t work. It was used for connecting USB keyboards and mice to the Xbox1 for Linux. It doesn’t have much other practical use.

I added a little 3.5 info to the OP along with the Controller Converter Pro (PS2/3 to 360).

Hi everyone,

I’m also looking to buy a converter to use a DS2 on my 360 and was wondering if I could use a Madcatz SE stick in place of a wired 360 controller to bypass the usb security with a joytron xconverter 360?
Some say you can, others say you can’t so I don’t really know what to think…

And about the the joytron, is it still the best option?
I would buy the ps2/ps3 converter pro bchan009 speaks about as it doesn’t need a wired 360 controller to work but not sure about the quality (and does it even work with a ps1 ds???).

Thanks!

This might be off topic.
Anyone tried the InPin converter on wheels?..
I noticed most people only use it on fighting sticks
Someone gave me a PS2 steering wheel and was wondering whether I could use it on a PS3.
Thanks

Does this
PS2 to PS3 Xbox 360 Controller Converter Adapter #77 - eBay (item 260660846400 end time Nov-05-10 01:12:38 PDT)

Still work in the 3.5 firmware. Did it work at all before that?
(I’m pretty wary of any device that promises to read inputs from both the ps2 controller and the 360 pad)

Not sure if anything it has been posted but heres a quick synopsis on my experience with the Controller Converter Pro:

  • The system needed to be off and then I’d plug it in for the system to read it
  • Once the controller has been read, if you remove, it will not be read unless you turn off the system and remove it
  • I could not switch controller ports, if I tried, the bullet point above this would occur :frowning:
  • no noticeable lag

Overall, once again I have been let down. I bought this to play with in tournaments. All the tournaments around me are on 360 (for the life of me i dont know). Whose going to want to turn the system ON and then off every time its my turn or when I move do a different 360? That’s absurd. If someone know how to make the 360 read the controller once its been removed please let me know.

You know if a racing wheel will work. Particularly the Logitech Driving Force Gt.

Okay guys i just want to get this answered pls. Is there any way i can use my ps3 madcatz sf4 te stick and use it for dreamcast (for tournament reasons)??

I’m having a bit of an issue with the PS2 to _____ converters as the average cord length of the PS2 controllers is quite short and the length of the converters leaves much to be desired. Therefore I am looking to get either an PS2 cord extension or a USB extension. Which of those options is likely to interfere with gameplay the least? Thanks.

@dizzlle01:

My Driving Force Pro does not work, so I’m going to assume not. Wheels that use the old-style PS2 connector probably work though.

Thank you. Definitely don’t need that much extra cord just and extra 1-2 meters.

Anyone confirm that this or this works? I want an InPin, but I’m not trying to wait forever on it, or pay double price to get it to me quicker.

Hey Kyle and everybody I purchased one of those mystery PS & PS2 to from FocalPrice they seem to work great and have no lag and you don’t have to plug in any controller. It also took me some searching but I found the name of the company Tiny Bee a Chinese company This adapter has the longest cord I have ever seen about 6ft. It makes your cord length for your sticks around the same length as MadCatz sticks + it also has a port for a mic I’m not sure if the other adapters have that or not

^ well, shit. if anyone else can vouch for that i’m definitely in for one of those. kinda annoying having to bring both my ps2 controller AND my 360 guitar around.

edit: 20 bucks  kinda disappointing after having bought the converter i use now for $5.
