Converter Compatibility Thread

So I just got an xconverter in the mail that I ordered. I first plugged it in and put the wired 360 controller in and everything, and it was fine at first. Then I started getting random button presses, pausing, and xbox guide button presses. Even though I’m not touching anything I’m getting random button presses every once in a while.

What’s happenin’? I’m using it with my Namco.

cross-post from premo section

.Cobra, is it doing it with other controllers/sticks as well?

Yep. Just did it with my PS2 Dualshock. Got a random X3 Kick, a pause, a down motion, and two roundhouse inputs just now. Not all at the same time, it’s in random intervals, but pausing/xbox guide opening is definitely a problem for using this in a tournament

Faulty converter? If so that’s gonna suck, I wanted to use my Namco at Cbus Bar Battles 3 this weekend…

Sounds like it, if you got it from etokki.com, ask laugh about getting a replacement and sending that one back.

winy voice Ohhhhhh. >.>

I ordered it from here.

Gah. This sucks! >:(

so can xbox arcade stick be used on a ps3 with XCM Cross Battle Adapter Plus

DERP. I do not read gud.

lmao ii… thanks but do u have the link to the official websitse

Urgh, never mind. They’re exactly the same. I mistook the “RUMBLE” sticker as part of the actual unit so I thought maybe there had been a revision.

You don’t want it, man. If you want to play on the 360, get your stick dual-modded.

oh damn i had my hopes up… but alright thanks

Got a question purely for PC purposes. Please let me know if this is the incorrect thread to post in.

I read in the first post that the Super Dual Box Pro 3 was good, but how good is it? What’s the Windows 7 compatibility? The issue I have with its older cousin, the Super Dual Box Pro was it only had Vista drivers, and the buttons for the controller didn’t map correctly by default when I plugged it into the PC (the default button numbers don’t correspond correctly with the actual buttons on the pad). I tried plugging it into the PS3 for the heck of it and the circle and X buttons were swapped and so were the Start and Select buttons (similar to how it was when I plugged it into the PC by default).

Anyone have any idea if the Super Dual Box Pro 3 rectified this?

Also regarding the InPin, how does the conversion fare for the Analog thumbsticks? I want to get an InPin primarily for using a PS2 controller with non-fighting game games on my PS3 (and maybe even the PC) that don’t require triggers (Devil May Cry 4, I’m looking at you), so I need the analog sticks to be responsive. In fact, how does the InPin convert the L2/R2 buttons on the PS2 to its trigger equivalent on the PS3 side? Is it just “on or off” for those buttons?

Sorry I missed this question!

For every Capcom fighter I have, the standard PlayStation stick layout: TOP - Square, Triangle, R1; BOTTOM - Cross, Circle, R2; won’t map correctly because R2 = R, L2 = L, and the Saturn shoulder buttons are ‘macro’ buttons and can’t be mapped to Normals.

I hope that helps.

I call this my Frankenverter. I bought what was supposed to be a BlazePro from Superufo.com, but instead got a converter that you can find on ebay. It looked sketchy at first but when I tested it, it ran as well as a real BlazePro converter did. So I just took the navigation panel from a portable rockband drum kit and snapped a rubber band on and made an all-in-one converter thats very portable. Together it cost me $14 shipped plus I have the extra rock band stuff that came with it that I’m never going to touch :]
The one con I have though is that I cant press the guide button, even on the navigation panel itself

I don’t suggest getting it at Superufo.com though because it took two months to come in. You can find them on ebay for $7 though.

Hi everyone, I’m not sure if making a new thread was appropriate for this one question of mine, so I’m hoping I can get an answer here.

I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with using a PS2 Smartjoy Frag w/vreg mod on an XConverter 360? I’m looking to use a KBAM setup and was wondering if this would even work.

I know the Smartjoy Frag works on most (all?) XFPS adapters, but I haven’t been able to find any info concerning other adapters. The XFPS is still pricey and it’s not even considered the top PS2/360 converter according to the first post here, so it’s not going to work for me. I don’t see why the Xconverter 360 wouldn’t work, but I would like some concrete evidence that it does before I buy it. Most Google searches only give me results for the XFPS/SJF combo because that was a popular solution back in '07-08 before the XIM was released. Plus, I believe the Xconverter was just released last year as well.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated. Despite this being a fighting game focused forum, hopefully someone here has tried this combination at some point or another.

Thanks.

Just wanted to let you guys know I got my PS2 to Xbox360 Controller adapter here, and it appear to works decently. DealExtreme: $7.93 PS2 to Xbox 360 Controller Adapter Cable

For using PS1 / PS2 controller with PS3
Currently I’m using a PS1 (!!) controller, simply leave the converter point to PS3, then plug it in, and then plug into PS3, it works just fine. I tested it a while. I can pulls off 1 frame link fairly consistently (well, as consistent as I ever been) no problem with muilt-buttons input so far.

For using PS1 / PS2 controller with Xbox360
It actually works, first, you have to plug the converter to the xbox360, then plug in a wired xbox 360 controller into the converter (it have a female USB plug on it) then once it is recognized by the Xbox360, plug in the PS1/2 controller. It works perfectly fine as well. I have no issue with pressing more then one button. Played a couple of online match. Felt no lag or input drop whatsoever after about 10 matches.

Updates:
I tested the lag, it is the same as my keyboard at 0.24ms when tested with this and xpadder.

Played another 20 matches. No drop input felt, no lag felt.

This look suspiciously like a BlazePro clone but available at an even cheaper price.

Further updates:

Up + Select = Home menu button / PS button.

Quick question, is there a converter for Dreamcast to 360, or do I have to go the custom mod way?

There is no Dreamcast to 360 converter.

ive already order the first version of blazpro ps2 to Xbox 360 adapters. What are known wire controller to bye pass the controller lock?

Anyone had experience with Speed Link ps2 to ps3 converters?

I have a need to connect my Xbox360 MadCatz TE and SE fightstick to the original Xbox to play some games like Fighters Evolution and CvS2. Do the Xbox to USB adapter cables mentioned in the OP (the $7 cables) work to allow you to use your TE on the OXBox?

If so that would be fantastic as these games have graphical glitches when played on a 360 so to get the best quality they have to be played on OXBox.

The cable i’m talking about is this:
