Converter Compatibility Thread

Actually, i did some research before i asked the forum, thats only for ps2 to xbox. the one i asked about no one seems to have a review on,but thanks anyways

So what would be my best bet for a SFAC > 360 ?

Just a big heads up, the yobo joybox drops the LEFT input after around 4 seconds for no reason. Does not happen on right side.

Using a DS1 PCB stick. I bought 2 before I realized. Thats just really unacceptable.

Anyone please have some info on the Dragon aka this one http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5229

Sorry if this is a repeat question, but what’s the verdict on this Mayflash device? It’s a little pricier than I would prefer, but I’m definitely curious.

ParryPerson, I threw away the box a long time ago, so I’m not 100% certain on the brand, but I am fairly certain I had a Dragon, and I can’t recommend it at all. It seemed to capture all the inputs, but doing SF special moves, particularly DP’s, on my Tekken 5 Hori + Dragon was a disaster. I promptly searched for a replacement converter on SRK forums, saw info about the REAL, bought it, and found it vastly superior and never touched the Dragon again. I urge you to avoid the Dragon and purchase a better converter. The Dragon works fine if you had a DS2 lying around and wanted a PC gamepad for super-simplistic motions, e.g. scrolling through menus and walking sprites across a screen, but isn’t reliable for fast-paced games such as SF.

EDIT: I’m not sure I gave a very accurate representation above, so I’ll try to clarify a bit. The Dragon will work for you in SF most of the time, maybe even 85-90% of the time. I just find that percentage to be unacceptably low, and I’m fairly certain most gamers would, too.

Yeah, I’m just going to bite the bullet on 2inpins. sigh.

So I tried the Cables4Pc adapter for the SFAC (8v PCB) since a few peeps have said it works…NO SOUP FO ME!..DOH!!! It doesn’t work at all & yes, I’ve tried the SFAC on my old PS2 so the PCB in there works fo sho.

I recently purchased an Xconverter 360 plus, and I am having some difficulties. I’ve looked at every guide/review I could find and have tried plugging in each controller in every possible order, with no success. I am working with a ps2 dual shock and a Madcatz wired 360 pad. Sometimes the converters lights will not come on at all. Other times, they will flash nonstop. Sometimes all 4 lights will flash, then shut off. No matter what the converter does, I get no response from the ps2 pad. The guide button does not bring up the Xbox menu, nor does the Analog button (or L2+Select for that matter.)

I’m not entirely sure what to do, or what I could possibly be doing wrong. I’ve tried multiple ps2 pads (can’t try more Xbox pads, as a I don’t have any others or access to any others.) Any advice?

whats a good saturn to dreamcast converter?

The Total Control 3 was pretty good.

The innovation converter is gdlk if you can get one, and it’s also a PSx converter

The total control converter is also good, what’s unique about it is that it works with the Saturn twin sticks for virtual on, something the innovation does not do.

Does anyone have a copy of InputLagTestor.zip that they could throw on megaupload or rapidshare or whatever? http://cpsc.ucalgary.ca/~cheguo/Files/InputLagTestor.zip is a dead link and the OP hasn’t been updated with anything else. Not gonna read 1,000+ posts to see if it’s already been re-uploaded, sorry :wgrin:

Just so everyone knows, I bought one of those PS2/PS3 converters on eBay. I’ll let you all know what I think of it once I get it.

how do i access home using the inpin?

the manual way is press the button on the right side of the converter. At least that what i have always been doing. lol.

Hi guys,

I’m sure this question may have been asked before, so please excuse if it has.

When you’re using a 360 controller to bypass security, can you use a wireless controller with a charging cable, or must you use a wired controller specifically?

I have a Stick with the paewang revolution pcb, so it works on my xbox360.
Will it work if I use an usb to xbox (the old one) adapter to use it with the old xbox?

You have to use a wired controller. The charging cable does not make your controller ā€œwiredā€, it just charges the battery. Use this postas a reference.

That links isn’t dead but I’ll mirror it for the hell of it.

I seriously doubt it. Those were used for mouse/keyboard support on Xbox Linux.

So i dual modded a friends stick using a PS1 Dualshock, and recommend he buy an inoin adapter. Testing on the PC all the buttons and directions register. However when plugged into the PS3 the left direction doesnt register at all, it does using other adapters and with the inpin when plugged into a PC. This is a PS3 slim btw, does the inpin have issues with slim PS3s?
