Converter Compatibility Thread

Can someone lend me there max shooter converter? I really want to try this converter out with the mayflash pcb. Thanks!

Tell you what. Let me go post a WTB and see if I can get a Mayflash PCB. If that doesn’t work out I’ll let you borrow it if you’ll pay shipping both ways. It will probably cost you $10 versus $50 for buying one.

^That sounds good. Thanks!

ahh i was going to guess the black rimmed sanwas, but then i saw the seimitsu sticks haha. still love the hss-0130!

i had tried ordering a max shooter a few weeks ago but they seller was kinda flaky. i still plan on grabbing one though.

ps2 saturn controller was 50.00. i would have paid that twice =)

Just thought I’d chime in with a PS2-GC converter I found that doesn’t seem to have been discussed in here thus far (as far as I could see anyway):

Looks fairly simple, almost as if it’s just straight wire-to-wire. But for the price, and since I was buying other stuff anyway, I picked it up considering it a small shipping charge, really. I’ll give it a shot with my PS1 Digital PCB stick and see how it works with TvC and Guilty Gear on my Wii once I get it (should be early next week).

Type of stick: Namco PS1, PS1 DS, PS2 DS, Saturn Model 2, Saturn PS2, Saturn Virtua Gun
Source/destination system: Dreamcast
Converter with link to place of purchase: Dream Connection 2
Results: All controllers work excellent with every game I’ve tried. The Saturn Virtua Gun did not work on any of the light gun games. The games do not even recognize the start button on the gun.

i’d like to add that the Saturn PS2 controller works fantastic with the Inpin via USB on the PC

Alright, got my converters in today…but apparently my luck with them is…not so great. First off, the PS2-GCN converter I linked to above does NOT work with PS1 digital. I did, however, test it with my Logitech wireless PS2 controller and it worked fine. I don’t have any other PS1/PS2 controllers to test it with at present.

Second, I bought the Hais PS2-PS3 converter, and am having a really weird issue with it in Street Fighter IV. I can navigate all the menus and select options and do all of that just fine, BUT, when I’m actually fighting in a match, I cannot use any of my kicks, no matter what buttons I assign them to. All of my punches and my movements work just fine, it’s ONLY kicks that don’t work. And like I said, I’ve messed with button configuration and tried changing things around. No matter what buttons I assign my punches and kicks too, the punches always work and the kicks never do. I’ve checked input display in Training mode to see if anything strange was going on there, but there’s nothing unusual there. I just can’t figure this out because it makes NO sense whatsoever. Why would the buttons work outside of a match but the kicks cease to function inside of a match?

EDIT: Did a few more tests with the Hais converter. PS3 MvC2 demo worked perfectly, all the PS2 games I put in worked perfectly…so WTF is the deal with SFIV? I even went back and assigned some buttons to commands like Throw or personal action since I obviously couldn’t do them, and even those did nothing but throw a punch when I pushed the button for them!

EDIT 2: Well, I found that if I disabled the 3K button in the control options, everything works fine, so I suspect that this is just a wiring issue with my stick. So the PS2-PS3 converter works fine for me now.

Anyone has a max shooter converter that you want to get rid of? I would buy it for a reasonable price. I see one on ebay for $50 shipped, but thats too much for me to take a risk, just to try it on my mayflash pcb.

I got in my Cube JoyBox today and this was the first thing I tested. It’s compatible and works well with it.

Just received my inpin in the mall today works perfectly thank you laugh.Making the transaction quick and painless  Haven’t tried the rumble yet hope is works with ps1 ds.Anyone knows if the inpin work for 2.76

Hey Kyle, does the cube joybox work with the SFAC 8V or 7.5V?

Good question. I’ll give the 8V a ‘no’ vote without even trying it. It hasn’t worked on a single Mayflash converter I own. I bought a 7.5V PCB for testing but the console cable it came with was wrong. I’ll see if I can make anything of it but it’s potentially a lost cause.

Edit: Yeah, my 7.5V isn’t going to work. I tried wiring it up with the 8V console cable and it just spammed random buttons.

Has anyone found a ps2-x360 converter that works with the HRAP2: SA? Thus far I’ve had no luck finding someone to add a x360 pcb into my hrap2: SA that lives in ST. Louis, MO as I do NOT want to ship it out to have the job done(shipping to and from + labor + parts would be more expensive than a x360 stick).

Otherwise, if someone knows of someone in STL or near-by who does the work, give me their contact info.

A few weeks ago I bought a ps2 to pc converter for my SFAC stick to get ready for SF4 release, it didn’t work. Now after reading this thread, I know that the pcb I have is the 7.5V one. Will the Super Joy Box 3 Pro work with it? It just says it works flawlessly with many pcbs, but does it work with the SFAC 7.5V pcb? Please let me know, thank you in advance.

any converter works with hrap3 -> 360?

I believe the max shooter works on the HRAPs. I could be wrong though. I just dual modded mine with an xbox pcb

saturn to ps3 adapter

I currently have two official sega saturn controllers but have been unable to locate an adapter/converter for me to use them on my ps3. I was told someone on this site would know and would be able to point me in the right direction.

I got burned by a cheapie converter a few years back, and I’ve avoided them ever since. But a friend highly recommended the inPin to me, so I’m probably going to send laugh a PM.

I recently bought an inpin from laugh and tried using it yesterday w/ an oem ps1 didgital pcb on my ps3 and it was constantly hitting down. Any ideas?

Im pretty posative its your ps1 pcb, i had the same problem. Go plug in another ps1/ps2 controller, and you will find out what is the problem. My bet is on your ps1 pcb, probably to old.
