Thanks, I added it. Everyone seems to be picking this one up after the Sumoto got gimped.
So turns I already have the SmartJoy Frag and DC adapter for ps/2 keyboard attachments. I tried to run my MAS stick on the ps2, that doesn’t work. There 's even some instructions on the MAS stick itself instructing how to sync it with ps2,dc, or PC…tried it and doesn’t work either.
I’ve given up on adapters, I might take your suggestion on using a pr-hack ps2 controller and replacing the guts of my stick, whatever that means.
But I wanted to use this stick for DC to. I saw a MAS super pro stick on sale that is compatible with ps,ps2, and DC.
thanks kyle for the suggestions.
I’m hoping against hope that someday the Sumoto will be “ungimped” and until then I’ll never update.
On the bright side, the Sumoto works good on my PC.
Just got an email from TAC, unfortunately they don’t have a solution yet.
Is that the Namco Arcade Stick for the PS1? Because I currently have that stick and am dieing for a good quality converter for PS3.
It’s good to know regardless. Thanks for the post. A real solution would be to update the thing and send out replacements to anyone who complained.
Yes, it’s this stick and is compatible with most converters here. It’s referred to as the Namco PS1 or Namco Arcade in the original post.
Yes, it’s the Namco Arcade Stick! (I actually scored one for $10 this week!)
Does anyone know if the Cube Joybox Pro (PS2->Cube/Wii) and the Total Control Plus (PS2->DC) work with PSX Digital pad PCBs?
$10 for a namco ps1 stick… jealous where’d u get it? was it used? (must’ve been right? in good condition?)
I’ve got one and it works fine with my real convertor.
Haha, yeah, I wish I could pay $10 for anything.
To anyone with an XFPS/Max Shooter, does the converter require an official MS pad for the controller passthrough? Will a Mad Catz pad work? I would imagine it would in theory. I’d also like to know if the play and charge cable is good enough for a wireless controller since everyone should have one of those. I’ll try picking up a Max Shooter with my next paycheck to get some more info on it.
Don’t have any adapters but I am pretty sure a charge cable and a wireless controller doesn’t function as a wired controller (the cable is only used for charging, not for transferring data.
Heh, got it used off of craigslist!
I’m sure that’s right. I’ve never hooked one of those up to my PC. Thanks.
Damn you small town! I did meet a guy in my 100,000 pop town who has a complete collection of NES, SNES and 64 games. I was impressed.
Kyle,
Yes Madcatz will work.
I didn’t want to make a new thread for this, and I know it’s not directly on topic but:
I’m planning on doing a wireless stick or two using a Sixaxis PCB and ShinJN’s AXISdapter.
Since you guys check lag input from converters; is there any noticable lag using the PS3’s Sixaxis/DualShock 3 pad?
All official wireless controllers (PS3/XBOX360) have been tested and all are lagless. So it’s safe to use official wireless controller for pad hacking.
Decided not to make new threat for this question so il ask here
I’d like to know if anyone has tried hooking up their DC Agetec stick to their pc using PC MAGIC BOX http://cgi.ebay.com/PC-MAGIC-BOX-DREAMCAST-SATURN-PS2-TO-PC-CONVERTER-UK_W0QQitemZ350191633321QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_VideoGames_VideoGameAccessories_VideoGameAccessories_JN?hash=item350191633321&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50
does it work? Is there lag? thanks
I have another report for the cables4pc PS2 to PS3 adapter, I wanted to share it with you all.
Type of stick: Hori Real Arcade Pro 1 Ver. B (no mirror top)
Source/destination system: PS2 to USB
Converter with link to place of purchase: PIII converter, Model 538 aka “cables4pc converter” (eBay link: http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-FOR-PS2-TO-PS3-GAME-CONTROLLER-CONVERTER-ADAPTER_W0QQitemZ260352631371QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Accessories?hash=item260352631371&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1234|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1309|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50)
Results: Using the lag input detector from the 1st post and the Joy to Key program on my PC, my HRAP did not lag AT ALL. What an amazing deal; I paid 6 USD for this thing and it’s lag-free as far as I can tell from these results! Recommended!
Please also note: I use my HRAP primarily on the PS3, 2.7 firmware, not typically on the PC. Not sure if that has any bearing on these results though.
I would buy it. These are rare and lagless. I can’t guarantee that it will work with your stick but I would get it assuming it will. If it doesn’t work then it’s no real loss. You can rock out a Saturn pad with it.
Thanks. I added this and linked to your post.
I have one of those adapters, I once tried using it with my Dreamcast Ascii Stick FT; the joystick itself wasn’t detected (i.e. inputs on the stick were not registered).
