Controller to Stick Questions?

Ive been thinking about getting a stick for this and for when I get Sf4, but anyway here are my questions

1 How is the transition

2 Are moves easier to execute

3 What is good stick to buy? (I have PS3)

1: short
2: Yes
3: Hori fighting stick 3 or Hori Real Arcade Pro (if not custom)

Haha…I actually posted a thread when I first got my Hori Real Arcade Pro 3.

  1. The transition may be a bit shaky at first. I know for me, when it came to using a regular controller I had all the confidence in the world on the D-Pad because that’s what I’ve been using for years. Transition to the stick takes time as with everything else thats new to us. That’s what training mode is for.

2)With my experience…and from the words of one of my friends…SF was never meant to play on the D-Pad. Half circles and quarter circles are done so naturally when executed on an arcade stick. BUT…if you’ve never used a stick before you might have trouble figuring out how to hold it correctly to get the right motions down.

  1. I’m sure most would agree with Hori. I’ve had mine for 2 weeks now and I’m telling you in confidence that it will change your gaming experience for the better. I’m able to do many things on my stick that I was never able to do on a regular controller. It’s life altering.

What are the keywords / tags to search for on youtube for this? I’ve never used a joystick either

Oops my apologies. There actually aren’t any tutorials on proper “joystick handling”. My friend showed me a video but it only reviewed the motion to do a shoryuken. I can’t even find the video he showed me. But hey…maybe someone from SRK should make a video regarding this!? One of you pros out there? I’m sure it would help a lot of people out.

:clapdos:

That would help plenty since there will be quite a few new joystick players with Remix and SF4 coming out.

Once you play with stick theres no going back to pad at all.
