Is BlazBlue Continuum Shift 2 going to be a separate release for consoles, or is it going to just be an update to the currently released Continuum Shift?
I was going to pick up CS, but if CS2 is going to be a separate release I’ll just hold off for that. Mind clearing this up for me?
It’s going to be a free update. However, there are DLC characters (Makoto, Valkenhayn, Platinum, and Mu if you don’t want to play Story Mode) that cost money. Hope that clears it up. It’s a bit different than the SSF4->AE update (where everything’s bundled up into one price instead of separated into individual items).
I’m personally hyped up for it, since it means that we’ll have two new updated versions of older games at ECT3 and Evo.
Basically they did it better than Capcom, making the balancing updates free so that everyone can play all the new characters with the proper balance updates, but you buy the DLC chars separately. The only place Capcom went better was to offer all the characters together at a more reasonable price, and to allow you the option to select to play the older balancing (although why anyone would want that in a competitive mindset I have no clue).
Capcom really needs to rethink what they’re doing with AE, it’s gonna divide the community as they’re basically giving you the ultimatum of buying all the new characters or playing an outdated version of the game with a EXTREMELY small fraction of the community that’s still around (those that come back for AE are obviously gonna be playing AE, and most of the community that still plays are competitive players, meaning they’ll also be playing AE).
