Constant disconnects

I have searched the forums for a thread describing my problem and I have yet to find a solution.

In a game I am constantly on the receiving end of a disconnect and it happens with such frequency that I know that it cannot be ragequitters (we are talking 1 in 3 games cuts off.) It happens almost universally in between rounds, whether it be the 2nd or 3rd round, although on occasion it will disconnect at the loading or character select screen. I have tried openDNS and all of my ports are forwarded for the PS3. I am just at a loss as to what to do to stop this from happening. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

This same thing has started happening to me too. Only since I got a new airport extreme…

The PS3 says Nat type 2 and during the round everything is perfect, but then between rounds it freezes and connection lost. I’m really running out of ideas for things to try too.

EDIT: There’s a boatload of different threads describing people with similar issues but no one seems to have any solutions other than “get a cable”:

im just makin a suggestion, but it may be your ISP… i constantly get wirless signal strengths which range between 80-50%… pretty shitty for playin games online… i even get disconnects wen i used an ethernet cord wtf!.. i called at&t a week ago to switch back cuz i never been disconnected that many times before i switch to the cable…
