there is no way that gesture was originally intended as some CYA measure. most dudes I know are 50/50 on wearing condoms, much less getting their boy to get post coital interviews in case of rape allegations
Yeah, I doubt the guy asked J-Ride to do that for him, it was probably just pure chance that he was a good enough dude to do that for him. That is a really smart move, but it is unfortunate that in this day and age we have to damn near big brother ourselves just to prevent these types of issues from happen. Well, NSA’s always watching so we might as well watch ourselves right?
@RocketUppercut , @angelpalm@pherai FYI we were making a birthday video for lulz, I did not think “I better get this on tape in case she tries to get him for rape!” I was young, we were finally able to drink legally so we recorded ourselves being jackasses, and we were making a funny video as a present for my friend. I had no idea it was going to escalate into some big thing months after the fact. This was when the Daily Show was just starting, so we made a mock interview as a joke. None of us knew this girl, and none of us knew she was engaged at that time.
I think the only thing that happened to her was her fiancee left her and she skipped town. This happened 13 years ago so I am kind of fuzzy on exactly how everything went down with the police. He was never officially charged so he wasn’t in the paper, IIRC. Both of us were asked to voluntarily come in for questioning. We lawyered up before we were questioned by police, and showed the lawyer the video before we went to be questioned. I personally had nothing to fear, but I was afraid I would get tricked into incriminating my innocent friend. Since we had video, I think this caused the police and the DA to decide to not waste their time. It would be our word + video confirming our version of events vs accusation with no evidence.

The statistics in that wiki page are from the FBI. The FBI defines rape, as you can read in the link above, and on the FBI’s website, as “penetration by a sex organ” and it excludes male victims of females, and any instances of someone messing with a man’s junk. It should also include “forced envelopment”. When college students were surveyed about being coerced into unwanted sex the results showed roughly equal representation of males and females as both victims and perpetrators.
