Daigo is the only motherfucker that gets frame traps on wakeup. I don’t know why people respect him so much.
He’s playing E. Ryu and chasing down backdashes. He earns the respect through punishing. To be fair he seems pretty free to YOLO aggro this time around.

Basically what javert said. The only reason they had “easier” (quotes because those players are still really good for the most part) roads to their spots, it only happened because the players they played against had already beaten/eliminated there “gods” if this game.
Going in losers early actually helped in this case, because aside from Nemo and Bonchan, all the real killers only got knocked info losers in round 2 or 3, which effectively put them on opposite sides of the brackets, but they ended up losing right after anyway so it didn’t matter.

I think Daigo and Xian need to call a truce and team up on Kazunoko, SFA3 special dramatic fight mode 2 on 1 style.
There’s no such thing as an easy bracket at this tournament.

Easier does not mean easy. Poongko probably had the hardest bracket.
Especially when playing Gief, where almost every matchup is a struggle. Shoutouts to Itazan and Snake tho, they’re taking a mediocre low-mid tier character and getting him into top 6/top 12 in the tourney with the best players in the world.

Both had to deal with nothing but bad and even matchups. Itabashi had to deal with 2 Seths and Snake Eyez got counterpick’d twice and had to beat the guy who sent him to losers. They weren’t “easier”.
Funny thing is, this is the first match all night I would have gone Gen Ultra 2 with.
Kaz is just on a tear. Ironically, 801 Strider kind of choked and gave him that set, if he didn’t this tourney would look alot different.
Everyone was calling that match was gonna shape the entire tournament.

Agreed. Strider consistently gives Kazu a run for his money. But always freaking chokes when victory is within reach. It’s frustrating to see.
