While I love not having to configure anything at all to use TeamViewer to help out my friends/customers, I still can’t get UltraVNC to work for the life of me. Stupid port forwarding is a concept I can’t seem to grasp. I have certain ports forwarded on my router at home and I still can’t connect to my home PC from work.
Word, man. Glad it could help you out. TeamViewer works awesome in a pinch.
I kinda want to start using UltraVNC to create a sorta seamless remote solution for access. Apparently, I suck at directions because I can’t configure this shit for the life of me.
I’m selling my laptop so I tried to format the hard drive, but it kept telling me programs were using the hard drive and it couldn’t be formatted so I used the Windows installation CD to try to reinstall Windows to delete everything and get it back to factory settings. My laptop told me that I already had a copy of Windows installed and that I shouldn’t install two at once, so I said nm and quit the installation and went to go manually delete everything. But now every time I start my laptop it takes me to the windows installation screen and I have to exit out and restart and it’s annoying. How can I make it stop doing that, just do a system restore? And how then do I format my harddrive/ restore everything to default to sell? Thanks.
friend can’t connect to internet, tried ie and firefox and no luck, but slsk and aim connect, i told him to shut off the firewalls and nothing, so i assume something fucked up his http port and or he has a virus
hes running aol antivirus and aol firewall any suggestions? to ensure the ports are blocked?
tried to ping his ip and get “TTL expired in transit”
and tracert just loops 3 ips
windowsupdate cant connect as well.

[] Download this (Windows ME Boot Disk)
[] Insert a floppy and run that program
[]Copy the file DEBUG.EXE from the C:\Windows\System32 folder (I think that’s where it’s at) to the root directory of the floppy you made with that program.
[]re-boot to the floppy
[]Run DEBUG.EXE from the Floppy (A:)
[]Follow the script here[/LIST]At least I think the Windows Millennium boot disk is the right one. It’s been a long time since I needed to do it and I don’t remember which boot disk I used, but that should wipe the drive clean and there is no Windows installation on it or anything else for that matter. If you want to put Windows on it, then take out that floppy and install it from the CD like you were doing.
When I browse SRK as a guest, I can view topics just fine. When I login, however, and try to click on most topics, it gives me a blank white screen. (I’m actually surprised it even let me access this thread.)
This happens with Firefox and IE, from both my work and home PCs.
check your skins. it’s happened to me before, depending on the skin. right now, im’ using black, and everything works normally, except some sigs are messed up. blue steel seems to be the only one for me that works perfectly with no problems at all.
I’d pondered whether there was some sort of weird conflict between SRK’s login cookie and some built-in anti-malware in my Vista installation at home, but when I tried from a clean XP install with literally nothing installed except for Firefox, I experienced the same thing. <scratches head> Strange.
