naw… I think it’s the actual Burner that’s a problem.
I have already ruled out CD-R brand, I’ve tried multiple brands on multiple drives, all fucked up on mine, all worked great on others.
it aint the software either, I’m using Nero and it used to work great! The lack of ability to burn CDs has been a very steady (and very detailed if I wanted to type more) decline.
finally, I cant even rip audio cds using that drive without the MP3s sounding scratchy so I use the stock DVD drive (which my expansion DVD-R drive outperformed when I first got it)
I’ve had like 2 expansion cd drives crap out on me, but usually it took a few years. The one I’m on now hasnt even been a year, I bought it last black friday. I’m hella fiendin for new music tho… I may jus buy an MP3 player instead in the meantime
I’m looking for a new computer. I have a laptop but the fan is completely gone and I’m sure the heatsink is too. Probably from wear and tear and the fact that it shuts down randomly when it does too much.
I’m looking at buying a new good desktop computer for around 1,000 - 1,500. Right now, I’m looking at the iMacs since I don’t game a whole lot on my PC anyway. But it seems kind of expensive… is it worth it? I’ve fallen so behind on Specs and crap I don’t know what a dual-core processor is or how great it is compared to my AMD Turion 64 mobile processor.
anyone who knows about NVTDM errors pm me please? i reformatted my comp like 3 times and before even connecting to the internet i run Ad-Aware and its picking up critical items and i cant even install some of the games
i might be working for geeksquad soon. yes they suck, but i’d like to avoid being another waste of space. can someone recommend some sites or books to make me more computer knowledgeable? i already know the basics but I don’t feel it’s enough.
and unless you’re looking for full time, bestbuy doesn’t like to hire people right into geek squad without knowing best buy, because… “it takes six months to KNOW best buy… then you have to KNOW the geek squad, and it’s just too much for your average citizen to take in”
I bought the nvidia geforce 8500 gt graphics card and put it in my computer, downloaded the drivers and all that. How do I check if my computer is actually using it rather than the default one? Will I have to disable it?
If your new video card is being used, I believe it should show up there. I’ve never actually swapped video cards before, though, so someone please correct me if I’m wrong.
Is there any software where a user on a network can click something to call for help or assistance at there workstation?
Scenario: User is having problems opening a document and wants someone to help them with this situation. They click or turn something on and the I.T support desk sees a message requesting help and which computer.
Then we can log down the time etc,etc for our own records or even better if the software stores records or allows us to list notes on the problem.
Anyone got a solution or know of anything?
Thank You,
Mathew
P.S I was considering using sharepoint to make one but thought maybe someone might know of an application to do it.
VNC! Look into UltraVNC, TeamViewer, or heck, even Symantec PCAnywhere would work, too.
I know that UltraVNC can be reversed engineered to the point where a client can click a link to your server to talk and you can help them out from there. I’ll get into it some more when I get home from work. It’s fun times! =P
I’ve made it this far, but when I try and add another rule, I receive the error “No space to add this entry.”
What do I do now?
Each entry must be a single port; it does not allow me to specify a range. Are there any of the other entries I can delete harmlessly? Is this stupid-ass maximum number of entries a limitation of my brother’s bargain-bin router?!
